Police search Chris "Birdman" Anderson's home to find out just what happened to that boy

Denver's 9News is reporting that Nuggets center Chris "Birdman" Andersen's home is the target of an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children division of the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.

Cops seized property from Birdman's house today, according to 9News. The case apparently originates from a California law enforcement agency. KMGH is reporting the investigation involves child pornography.

Andersen attended practice this morning and is expected to be at tonight's Lakers-Nuggets Game 6. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

LARKSPUR, Colo. -- Douglas County investigators on Thursday executed a search warrant at the Larkspur home of Denver Nuggets player Chris "Birdman" Anderson.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children unit began investigating Anderson in February after receiving information from a California law enforcement agency, sheriff's spokesman Ron Hanavan said in a news release.

Douglas County sheriff's investigators have taken over the criminal investigation against the 33-year-old center-forward, Hanavan said.

Investigators seized property at Anderson's home that they believe is connected to this case, Hanavan said, but he did not disclose what was taken.

A law enforcement source told CALL7 Investigator John Ferrugia that the case involves child pornography.

No arrests have been made in the case, Hanavan said.

Hanavan said his agency would provide no further information about the on-going investigation at this time.

The Denver Nuggets said it has just learned of the issue and has no comment at the time.

Anderson was seen earlier Thursday at the Pepsi Center but had left by the time the news broke.

Even though the Denver Nuggets are in Game 6 of their playoff series with the Los Angeles Lakers, Birdman has played little since March.

The last time he played in a Nuggets game was on March 25 at Minnesota when he played for 5 minutes and scored 2 points.

Law enforcement tells TMZ ... the Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. received a tip from a California law enforcement agency back in February ... and finally searched Andersen's home early this morning. We're told officials seized property from the residence during the search.
