I think y'all got the story twisted.

He told the police most of the crimes HE commited cuz he wanted to cooperate with them. When he told that Wyclef story he said that Wyclef recieved a loan from him which came from drug money but that Wyclef wasn't aware of it. So he didn't really tell on Wyclef he told on himself in that situation.

I agree with the bolded. He's covering for his own shady dealings, and putting the blame on someone else to deflect any heat that may fall on his head.

Clef put up the heat shield early in case his name came up during the impending trial. He tried to make it look like a normal loan from folks, knowing these kats are dirty.
