Different artists are gonna be held to different standards based on their conformity to current sound trends and how big of an artist they are. Who said Nas was a superstar rapper? I mean damn I know 150k ain't great for Nas but for the material he released it's far from terrible. This is the second highest debut of the year. Only Nicki Minaj sold more. Wale had like 3 or 4 singles all over the radio last year and did about the same numbers. Nas outsold Chris Brown, Usher, and Frank Ocean. How much can you expect from this guy? Summer on Smash isn't that good of a commercial song and he hasn't even released it as a single.

How is Nas not a superstar rapper, what you tryna play that underground card now. Didn't IWW sell 2.8 mil, didn't I AM sell 2.1 mil, and a streak of platinum albums up to God Son. Why you tryna play the underground, he isn't a superstar card now. So Nas ain't conforming to trends, that Swizz Beatz track ain't a blatant attempt to get a radio record, that Chris Brown track on his last album ain't a commercial record, and so on.

Chris Brown fanbase died since that Rihanna shit, Frank Ocean is a new artist who sold his album electronically his first week (his sales were affected), and Usher alienated his black fanbase a while ago with his strobe light music.

He's not a superstar rapper any more. Yea, maybe back in 98 but not any more. He's not underground either. He's B-list in terms of popularity bruh. YOU KNOW you don't think he's a superstar caliber artist like Wayne, Jay, Kanye, Drake, Eminem. Is he as talented as them? Yes. As popular? No. I'm not sitting here with you trying to say Jay isn't consistent but you comparing Nas current album sales to his best sales would be the same as comparing Jay to Vol. 2 which he clearly isn't close to. It's a dumb ass argument. BP3 hasnt cleared 2 mill by the way.

If you listen to the shit Nas talks about on records like Hero and We Make the World Go Round you'll rethink throwing it into the typical commercial category. It is a commercial attempt sonically but at the same time the content isn't all the way radio friendly. Same with his HHID and SD singles. Summer on Smash you have a good argument but you can only pick 1 or 2 commercial records from Nas albums compared to most other rapper's albums filled with them, especially Jay.

So you think this album with A Queens Story and World's An Addiction is a flop for today's climate and Nas' superstar caliber hit making ability huh?

Streets disciple is not considered a double album by the Riaa because it was aunder 93 minutes. IT's sales were counted only once.
