Serious question...What would you do if your mate started using crack?

I mean what if you'd been with someone for 10 years and have kids. Then, they start hanging out all night long with people who are crackheads but he claims he himself is not smoking it. Can you not be a crackhead and have and hang out with people who smoke it? I say no but he says you can. A few months ago he was locked up for stealing from Wal-mart but he claims he's innocent. He was with one of his crackhead friends when it happened. I work everyday. I pay all bills by myself and have 2 little girls.All four of us live together.He is not physically abusive. I've yelled, i've screamed, i've cried and I'm tired. He was not like this when I first met him. He had a good job. He quit driving trucks because of blood clots about 5 years ago. For whatever reason he started hanging out with these people. He stays out all night every night and will not get another job. The thought of being on my own with my kids scares me and is hard to think about. I suspect he is own crack any advice.

Is it possible to stay together and it work out or should I take my little girls and leave and move on with out him.

First off, no grown man steals from Walmart.

That is some adolescent, "I dont have a real job" shit.

And he hangs with crackheads? This is not the type of 'boy' you want around your children.

Get out of it asap. Talk to family, if you have family to talk to.

Not gonna lie, it will be hard times at first, because being a single mother is hard, just keep the little girls in mind through it all.

If there is anything you MUST do, it's leave that nigga. As of this moment, he is nothing but drama on your life.

Don't wait on it.

Don't talk to him about you thinking about leaving, because all he'll do is talk you back into staying and you'll be back in the cycle.

Don't pressure him about bills either, because more then likely he will end up selling crack to get money, and that's not what you want.

Just start putting plans together to find a place to live, how you are gonna continue working, and how to have the girls looked after while you are at work.

Don't even talk to the nigga and then one day, when you got the cash saved up, just move.

Don't let him back into your life till he has a career and dropped the crackheads.

He is the father of the kids. I am 31 and he is 50. I met him when I was 22.

We are not married but we've lived together for 9 years and have 2 little girls together ages 4 and 6. He was working as a long distance truck driver. He developed blood clots stopped driving and haven't had a job since. I worked a decent paying job for about 3 years, got laid off, attended college and got another job. I pay everything by myself I come out of pocket with no financial help from him. He watches the kids while I work and takes them to school.

Makes it even worse, I thought he was younger.

He is 50, quit his job at 45 and hasn't had a job since, even though he has a wife and two kids?

What is his reasoning for not pursuing another job?

He says that he is pursuing work. I am not with him in the day because I work. He also has a misdemeanor; he was accused of stealing cases of beer from Wal-mart this year. He claims he is innocent and that his crackhead friend did it and let him take the fall. He still hangs out with this person which baffles me. But anyway, the blemish is still on his record. Back in 2008 he was on a steroid called Prednisone and he ended up punching me in the face and busted my lip and I had him locked up. That was the one and only time he's hit me. He blames the side effects of being on the Prednisone. It was prescribed to him for the blood clots. So he has a domestic violence charge and a theft charge on this record.

That's rough. I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

But on some real shit... he's a man and a father who isn't providing for his woman or his kids, period.

Not even on no disability shit... he's being lazy and hanging with the wrong crowd. I know people with worse records that have jobs.

He needs to start at Mickey Ds or something honestly, get SOME type of income.

You need to move on. Seriously.

Your mans a crackhead. You don't hang with known drug users for no reason. At his age he should have a naturel need to work and provide for his kids and you. Instead he feels the need to be out all night.

Night time is a crack dealer's blessing.

50 year old men DONOT steal or hang with thieves for no reason.

Get the man into rehab or leave. Unlike heroin you can make it back from smoking crack.

My best friend from school days is a crackhead that has hit the point of no return. He displays the same behaviour you describe.

Okay...whether he is really smoking crack or not I honestly don't know...he is locked up ...I prefer my kids not see him. I was just looking for others opinions or if they can relate to this and how did they handle it.
