First off, RIP to all the emcees who have passed. But who do y'all think is the most disrespected dead rapper? I say Pimp C. Dude made so many niggaz mad right before he passed that niggaz still don't give respect to him even though he's dead. I don't and never did fuck with Pimp. I was actually talkin shit about him the week before he died. But I lost too many loved ones to disrespect the dead, so I show him the up-most respect. After all, he knows something that nobody living knows, what comes after death. Thoughts? |

SMH at you showing him respect merely BECAUSE he's dead...
Respecting people while they are living is more beneficial, and if they didn't earn your respect while they were living then you shouldn't give it to them just because they died, especially from a drug overdose.

Respecting and liking is 2 different things. I respect him, but that doesn't mean my opinion of what he did while he was alive changed. When a nigga is alive he can confront me on my opinions or change them. When he's dead he can't defend or explain himself. So it's ok to respect a dead person who you never fucked with. If you and a friend had a fall out and he died, would you still go to the wake and/or funeral? I'm not gonna call him a great rapper simply because he's dead, but as a man I must respect the dead. Plus, him and Bun B did a lot for southern Hip Hop. |

Basically...the nigga can't defend himself. It's like talkin behind his back in a sense. When you talk behind someone's back there is a possibility that you will get a chance to say it to that person's face. When he's dead, that can't happen. The nigga lived his entire **** life. We're still in this life and he's on to the next one. That deserves some **** respect. You're mom never told you to respect the dead? |

I don't either. As a man I respect him, as an artist I don't listen to him. Never did, never will. I don't go off complimenting him on some "Pimp C is a great this or that" type shit. I guess I'm just having a hard time explaining myself. |

I agree. This is what I mean by respect. There's a difference between stating an honest opinion like you did and saying "Fuck that bitch ass nigga. I'm glad he's dead" type of shit.
