There isn't one other producer in the game who can say that.........Not Rza....Not Just Blaze..Not Kanye...Not Cool & Dre......Not Alchemist....NO ONE!!!!
Snoop....Big L.....Fat Joe......All the great ones went to Preemo....so your feeble opinions mean absolutly nothing because all the legends have gone to this man....
There was somerthing wrong with that statement in the thread about Preemo being overated....Dude said Just and Kanye have more of an impact on Hip Hop then Preemo....The only problem is that Preemo is 20 years deep while kanye and Just are only about 9 years.....So the fact that he knows Preemo says a lot in itself....I've never heard Timbo hold down a whole Hip Hop album....NEVER!!!!
Then he mentions Preemo not being on Dre's level...In my humble opinion....Dr Dre is the west coast version of Preemo and Vice Versa.......But I remember when Dre had a slump in 1996 - 1999.....anyone can have a slump.
He then said Rappers make Preemo hot...well obviously he never heard Group Homes' Living Proof album...Mediocre rhymes and all Preemo beats and yet the album was very listenable....
Here are 10 beats by just Gangstarr alone...No Jay Z...No Nas...No Biggie Just gangstarr and a few others. These songs are just small examples of why Preemo is herald as the greatest producer.
1) Gang Starr-Take It Personal 1992
2)
3)
Straight sickness.....Its boom bap....its fight music....Its classic NY Hip Hop music
4)
Words cant describe the energy....Just listen fopr yourself
5)
5)
Gang Starr - So Wassup?!
6)
7) Guru - Hustlin Daze 2000
8)
9 ) Gang Starr - Natural [Instrumental] 2003
Its just the instrumental to get the point clear....Its classic Preemo....Just Listen to the darkness....
10)
Preemo's versatality.......He can make it smooth too......This is straight cruising music
* Bonus Rakim - New York This not only one of the greatest Rakim songs ever......Thsi is one of the greatest Hip Hop songs ever...

Preemo is HIPHOP...Boom Bap with precision scratches not some overused G-funk or faggy disco sounding shit.

LOL...I think that Vanilla Ice song is probably the only thing we'll disagree on concerning Hip Hop......But you're opinions are always on point with me so I can work with that.

fuck Dr. Dre. Dre ain't nothing but a west coast version of Erick Sermon. And I give E-double more props because he doesn't rely on a team of producers and musicians. dre been getting ghost produced for the last 15 years. Dre aint even on Pete Rock's level. it's a slap in the ****g face to even mention Pete Rock and Dre in the same sentence. timbaland already got exposed for straight looping beats so he's irrelevant. he can't chop a sample to save his life. he need to stick to r&b where it's more acceptable. DJ Premiere is unfuckwitable:
when the fuck did Memphis Bleek make ya head nod???????? (forward to 1:00) |

I hear u ....But at the same time....Dre did hold it down....I cant disregard Dre becuz along with NWA and the Chronic and Doggystyle him and Ice Cube made a song called Dope Man back in 87 that sounds sick even till this day......Dre layed it down so for that he will always get his respect but everything else u said is on point. I been said Dre jacked the whole EPMD sound...first it was Above The Law then Dre took it.....But Dre made that funk shit psychaledlic..........No one can take that from him.

dre couldn't make a beat without dipping into bootsy collins' catalogue. then after the doggystyle, g-funk in the 90s i don't know who was making dre's beats- daz, scott storch, mel-man, etc. for his mainstream hits after 2000, would it really suprise you that someone other than Dre knocked those out? i mean as dope as they were, how complicated were In Da Club, Family Affair, etc., production-wise? how groundbreaking were they from a production standpoint? preem crossed lanes paying homage to jazz and the blues and got shortie that grammy award all the while keeping it 100. but no one wants to talk about it. again...fuck dr. dre

Excellant thread.
Exactly how I break it down on Premo greatness. By just posting up the tracks. Heard or unheard of. If its dope its dope.
But to many people go about their decicion base solely on outside influences.......a of bunch media, radio, hype, commercial ,units sold and other propoganda.
When it should be base on hardcore neck snapping undenialable sound
how the tracks moves YOU.
Not whether the manisteam likes it or not.
You just a fan....not an A&R

great thread...
i was damn near ready to say fuc k the reason...
talkin about what has preemo done in the past 10 yrs.... he's done more then any producer in rap PERIOD
do you see any other producer of his stature helping ensure the future of hiphop more then preemo? this guy stays blessing talented newcomers with tracks (terminology, nyg'z,etc) who has dr dre helped? now tell me who he's helped who aint SIGNED TO AFTERMATH..
preemo is hiphop.. he'll lace a track for any legend in the game and turn around and put the same effort in with artists like ill bill and reks...
i aint shittin on dre by any means but i put preemo equal if not better then dre..
oh yeah... which producer got the first single off eminems new album?????? PREEMO
Being a fan of dipset requires an extreme lack of intelligence.

Ayye Yo!
Some one......anyone
Help me here.
Exactly what bangers and ill tracks that Dre or Tim produced in the last 3....hell even 5 years that were better than what Premo has? Something that really retained its replay value. I mean I know radio success and mainsteam appeal are the bases for alot of you cat opinons when it comes to hip hop. (which is so sad and probably why hip hop as a whole is suffering creativelty)
But outside the "hit" sinlges you cats really mean there are better than Premo? Really? |
