These niggas are always bitching about the vets not retiring and making way for them.WTF does Jay,Nas,etc album has to do with your success or lack of success, these niggas drop album every now and then and they act like we only have 30 bucks for only two albums a year. LOL There is enough room for everyone and if you aint dropping hot shit, or maybe the fact is most of these cats have nothing going for them other than some mixtape punchline crap. I didn't see Jeezy,Rick Ross,Plies, etc telling UGK,Kast,Trick, etc to retire so they can get shine.
I think the problem is most of these up and coming NY rappers don't do enough to seperate themselves from one another, can you honestly say there is a difference among Jae Millz,Uncle Murda,Tru Life, etc. |

It's not all young up and coming NY rappers. That's a huge generalization. Just because one rapper may feel that way, doesn't mean all of them are complaining (as you put it) or feel that way. Y'all hear one or two of these cats say that. Then you apply that to every rapper. That's not the case. And, it's not the older cats holding anybody back. You guys are the ones that hate on them. Even when they do have talent. Everything seems to be a joke to y'all. Y'all don't even pay attention to Hip Hop like you say. You really can't say anything about the older cats, because you guys dimiss these up and comers all the same. And if they don't put up huge numbers, then y'all don't even blink twice at them. So it ain't really the rappers or the old cats. |

Well put me on to some up and coming NY rappers that really seperates himself from the pack and aint on that "IM ON THE CORNER LIKE" shyt that everyone seems to be on and isn't blaming someone for their lack of success. Joell Ortiz and Saigon are the only two i can think of. |

NY rappers just have too high of a sense of entitlement, on some Hillary shit when it comes to this rap shit. alot of them think they can make any song and basically run the game. and while some have dropped songs i thought were big hits on the comeup, unfortunately the labels arent looking for anything like that unless its on the other side of the road ala Mims or Yung Berg, etc. |

I think the problem with alot of the young NY rappers is that they are not really marketable. If you always talkin that drug shit, hangin on the block, kill a nigga at will type bullshit then you are not gonna get any airplay. They just gonna be stuck in that mixtape market. So when they album drops, that shit gonna flop. |

Check out Climax, www.yoclimax.com -- 1st NY artist not on that bullsh*t. See though up here (NY) that "IM ON THE CORNER LIKE" line is the "I GOT CANDY PAINT AND GRILLZ" line of the south. What south cats stand on their own???? |

This aint the 80s anymore. Thats what the NY rappers forget. Its damn near 2009 and these rappers talking about selling weight in 88. If they sold weight in 88, then they are pushing 35 years or more, and according to Jim Jones, that is "oldhead status." When was the last time a major urban area had NEW crackheads? WHen was the last time those cities have murder rates that was over 2k? When was t

NY remained ignorant and stagnent, and thats why the World is tired of their entitlements just because you came from dirty project building that smells like piss.
That drug shit is OLDDDDDDDDDDD. Oldheads talking about what happened back in the 80s and glorifying selling poison to their own people. |

this post hit the nail in the head for me. Especially this cat maino his whole marketing scheme is him calling out Jay and Nas for not putting him on and other NY rappers if i'm not mistaking they both have there fair share underachievers. He sucking off T.I. and bigging him up when you grew up on Big ,NAS, Jay etc.... He lost me as a fan before he could pull me in. so the dudes i've been listing to since like 18 or so I just stop listing to them and listen to you when you still stuck in the 80's get the fluck out of here with that. So what you did 10 years for whatever I have family members that has that time in and have done worse than you and all they tell me is to do positive stuff while you talking all that negative shit. F all new new york rappers except for pap cause he shows respect. the rest of dem are doo doo. you name em, murda, gunz, mr wavy lol etc.... they may can rap but they suck at being and "ARTIST" "MC"key words sorry for the rant but these dudes get on my nerves if for example, maino because when i say the thread title he popped up in my head first, if he came out and bigged up the vets he may lure in some of their fans instead of pushing them away STUPID "THIS IS JUST MY OPINION DONT TAKE IT PERSONAL" |

That drug shit is OLDDDDDDDDDDD. Oldheads talking about what happened back in the 80s and glorifying selling poison to their own people. NY anit the only ones gulity of drug rap **cough** Rick Ross **cough** But come on, ignorant and stagnet? We've been scratching our heads since 2006, straight confused as to what type of garbage the fans are buying. The general public has forced NY rappers to dumb-it-down because fans dont understand good hip-hop, check Lil Wayne. So what happened was a truck-load of garbage NY rap was unloaded, thinking people would eat it up, but no, that anit accepting that up here. Just because were both from NY doesn't mean I'm gonna support you (fan and artist) **cough**The South**cough** The only up-and coming artist in NY in my eyes is Saigon, and the general public dont want it, hes to smart and lyrical.....smh |
