2009 marks the 20th anniversary of "Straight Outta Compton". Love 'em or hate 'em, you gotta admit that Ice Cube, Dr. Dre', Yella Boy, M.C. Ren and Eazy E forever changed the game!! I mean, how many of your favorite rappers did N.W.A. give birth to? How many rappers of today wouldn't even exist if it weren't for N.W.A.? The list is endless. So, show your respect and speak on how these pioneers and their music affected your life. |

Straight Outta Compton came out in '88. But I feel you though, I wrote an essay in junior high on Eric B. and Rakim, and N.W.A and how they changed Hip-Hop. ACED IT!

^^^^So, you're saying that N.W.A. didn't change the way a lotta rappers do their music? You're saying that "Gangsta Rap" would have existed even without N.W.A.? Right... |

thats some bullish because niggaz4life was like nwa's best album, and ice cube wasn't even on that album. dr. dre's production was flawless on that album. |

I agree that NWA influenced a great amount of subsequent rap groups and artists, but I absolutely do not agree with your claim that NWA is solely responbile for the "existence" of those rap groups and artists, which is what you implied when you asked this: "How many rappers of today wouldn't even exist if it weren't for N.W.A.? The list is endless."
That is what makes no sense. Just because NWA was first (which by the way they weren't the first gangsta rap act) doesn't mean that those that followed wouldn't have existed at all....
