According to Pwinsider.com, the name of WWE's June PPV will be changed this year from "One Night Stand" to "Extreme Rules". This is being done because of WWE's recent switch to a PG rating.

The Brian Kendrick is developing a bad reputation for not listening backstage. This explains his quick exit from Sunday's Royal Rumble battle royal.

SO all of the marks can stop blaming WWE and start blaming the superstar himself.

Multi-Time Champion Headed To ROH
Tuesday, January 27, 2009

January 27th: ROH officials have been speaking with one of the top names in professional wrestling about a possible engagement in Florida. More details to follow…

Earlier today, as part of the ROH Newswire, Ring of Honor made the preceding announcement. Now with the negotiations put to bed, we can officially announce which top shelf competitor will be making their way to ROH during the “Proving Ground ’09” weekend in Florida. It’s a weekend in which many different competitors will be given an opportunity to showcase their skills for the first time in Ring of Honor, and we are proud to announce the addition of one more name.

On February 7th in Orlando, FL, for one night only, D-Lo Brown will look to prove himself inside the ROH ring. D-Lo is a former WWF Intercontinental & European champion, a former NWA World Tag Champion, and a former GHC Heavyweight Tag Champion. Now he is looking to forge a name for himself here in ROH. “I hear how great the wrestlers in ROH are,” said D-Lo. “And I look forward to showing the fans that it’s okay to still be down with the brown. After the 7th in Orlando, I’m sure all of ROH will be too.”

The question remains: who D-Lo will face in Orlando? ROH officials will have that announcement next in the Newswire!

Electronic Arts today announced the cast of the live action movie cast for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising. 16 time World Heavyweight champion and WWE Hall of Famer Nature Boy Ric Flair has made the list, playing the character Commander Hill, a commander players will have to take on in the new Commander's Challenge mode. "I had a great time on set and while I may have retired from the ring, I think my fans are going to love seeing the 'Nature Boy' style and profile his way to victory. I know my kids are going
to have a great time trying to take it to me on the battlefield, " Flair said. Other cast members hired include Malcolm McDowell from 'Heroes', Jodi Lyn O'Keefe from 'Prison Break' and Holly Valance from 'Neighbors'. The game will be available for download in March. (Colin Vassallo)

I hate this new PG rating. I remember we had to sneak and watch wrestling growin' up anyway, now it's just bread for kids these days. So basically fuck those back-in-the-day fans, right?

Oh well. Anyway, One Night Stand hasn't been decent since 2006 when the riot threats caused Cena to see clearly.

The Associated Press issued the following press release this evening saying Mickey Rourke won't be appearing at WrestleMania after all:

Mickey Rourke won't rumble with WWE superstar

HOUSTON (AP) — A spokeswoman for actor Mickey Rourke says he won't be taking his role as a professional wrestler into a real-life ring after all.

Paula Woods told The Associated Press on Wednesday night that Rourke will not wrestle WWE superstar Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 25 in April at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

Woods wrote in an e-mail that the Oscar-nominated actor "will not be participating in Wrestlemania. He is focusing entirely on his acting career."

Rourke portrays professional wrestler Randy the Ram in the acclaimed movie "The Wrestler." He made a surprise announcement about the wrestling event Sunday night on the red carpet before the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

Rourke had said he was going to toss Jericho "around the ring like tossed salad."

- Dave Meltzer is reporting that Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat will be inducted into the 2009 WWE Hall of Fame. His inducter will most likely be Ric Flair.

- Former TNA star Johnny Devine was backstage at the Royal Rumble in Detroit, and was also in attendance at the Toronto Raw show as well.

- There will be a Smackdown & ECW television taping on 4/28 at Madison Square Garden.

- Wes Brisco, the son of WWE legend Jerry Brisco, has started in developmental. The younger Brisco was a high school wrestling star in the Tampa area. Wes also competed as a pro wakeboarder.

- From Brett Sullivan: Just a quick note, during a promo at the tapings Vickie Guerrero mentions that Jeff Hardy's re-match clause will see him compete in the Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out.

- In a one line comment to the Houston Chronicle, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair said that the bottom line is that he will be at WrestleMania 25. "Let's just say, I will be at WrestleMania, and that's all I'm saying," said
the Nature Boy when asked about if he will be part of the show. Flair, who will also be present at the Hall of Fame ceremony the night before, is expected to be somewhat involved in the Rourke vs Jericho match as rumors are that Flair, along with Afa the Wild Samoan, is helping Rourke getting in shape and doing some training before stepping in the ring for real in front of 70,000 people. -- In the latest update on the official website of Batista, www.Demon-Wrestling.com, his people are saying he won't be cleared to return to the ring from injury for five or six months. WWE still had hopes for Batista to wrestle at WrestleMania, but that's off the cards now. Here is his website's statement:

Dave's recovery is going very well. He's in the gym twice a day but being very cautious.

Looking forward to coming back as soon as he's able.

Doubtful he'll be cleared before 5-6 months but he'll be back stronger and better than ever.

On Monday's Raw, WWE explained Randy Orton's recent rash of violent behavior by saying he had the behavioral disorder IED (intermittent explosive disorder). According to a number of medical websites, IED is defined as "a behavioral disorder characterized by extreme expressions of anger, often to the point of uncontrollable rage." It's interesting to note that medical websites link the disorder to steroids as IED can be exacerbated by steroid use based on chemical changes in the person's brain.

The news website www.huliq.com posted an article yesterday regarding intermittent explosive disorder and Randy Orton was mentioned. They wrote: "Interestingly, according to recent reports, WWE wrestler Randy Orton has intermittent explosive disorder or IED. He says he's been diagnosed with it, in fact. But it should be noted that some have posited that IED may be exacerbated by steroid use."

For the record, Orton has ties to past steroid use as in March 2007, Sports Illustrated said the former WWE Champion was part of a steroid and HGH ring used by a number of professional athletes in several sports. The article mentioned several current and former WWE wrestlers, including Orton, who was alleged to have obtained clomiphene citrate, anastrozole and the steroids stanozolol, nandrolone, oxandrolone, and testosterone. WWE made a statement on the situation, claiming that the allegations preceded the Talent Wellness program WWE launched in February 2006. However, it was later revealed that Orton continued to receive drugs until February 2007. Amidst the Signature Pharmacy drug scandal in August 2007, Sports Illustrated said Orton received somatropin, nandrolone and stanozolol from September 2004 through February 2007 when the online pharmacy was shut down by authorities.

-- The Governor Palin character (formerly Daffney of WCW) is now a full fledged member of the TNA roster with her own entrance theme and video.

-- The next series of "Rough Cut" will center on new TNA wrestler Kiyoshi. The vignettes will feature an interview with wrestling legend The Great Muta, which was shot a few weeks ago when TNA was in Japan. TNA is trying to link Kiyoshi as Muta's protege.

-- The Suicide character appeared at this past week's Impact tapings with Christopher Daniels under the mask. Daniels will portray the character until Frankie Kazarian can return from his biceps injury.
