Johnny Depp doesn't disappoint, but Michael Mann is kind of suspect to me in this type of story. Hopefully third time is the charm for John Dillinger.

I don't know who the fuck John Dillinger is, but Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in a movie together is a must see.

I'm big fan of that 1971 or something film so I'll definitely give it a chance, although I'm slowly tired of Depp's acting.

^ why cause of those stupid Pirates sequels? Sweeney Todd was great entertainment and The Rum Diary sounds very interesting. I could never get tired of Depp cause of the diversity in his role selections. I think some people (not you HH Head) but people who are now hating on him only do so cause he's no longer one of the best kept secret type of actors in the eyes of movie buffs he's now mainstream.

He was one of the most notorious criminals in the history of the US.

The character Bale is playing was one of the most respected FBI agents in history. Mann has only failed twice in his career which is damn good considering how long he's been around so I have faith in this one turning out ill.

I have great respect for Depp's talent, but I'm slowly getting tired of him playing weirdos, strangers and all kinds of eccentric characters. I would like him to give strictly dramatic performance where he can display real human emotions. He was on a good way to do it in "Blow" and completely forgotten "The Brave".

I personally found Blow to be mediocre and one of the most overrated movies in recent memory. If you want to see a more recent great dramatic performance by him where he plays a more conventional type of character definitely rent a movie called The Man Who Cried.

LOL. I've seen The Man Who cried. IMO Depp was the most wooden of all actors in it. Richie & Turturro fucked it up with bad lyp-synching and only Cate Blanchett gave a memorable performance .
