Play GM, what are your priorities for your team?

Ours:

1) Resign Tex, whatever it takes. We aren't a small market team anymore and we can afford it

2) Resign Rivera and Oliver, only let Anderson come back for a lower salary, maybe 12 million over 2 years with an option. His role will be reduced and Rivera will finally get consistent playing time. We need a solid guy like Oliver in the bullpen with Frankie leaving.

3) Let someone else overpay for K-Rod. Arredondo was flames in the playoffs in high-pressure situations, he's our closer next year. Shields stays in set-up and if we're lucky Escobar will be healthy enough to do middle relief, though we can't count on that.

4) Look at signing a veteran pitcher for a 1-year deal to be our #5 replacing Garland next season, if not Moseley improved towards the end of 2008. Having a good #5 is great for getting 100 wins but it doesn't mean shit in the playoffs. I'm still not convinced Texas is going to give us any competition next year for the AL West. Stay away from the CC bidding war.

5) Chain Matthews to the bench.

Rumor is Mets are definitely going after Rodriguez and Red Sox are in the Teixeira market, although I don't see how that fits since they still have Lowell.

If we can't keep Teixeira, we could have a look at Prince Fielder and offer Jered Weaver/Sean Rodriguez. Rodriguez can play center field and is MLB ready and Weaver is a solid #2 starter.

News is Anderson's option wasn't picked up, so he's done. One of the greatest Angels of all time, but it's time for him to go. This leaves us a hole in left field, which could probably be filled by

- Figgins or Morales. We can also re-sign Rivera but this looks doubtful, a lot of other teams are interested in him.

- Matt Holliday is another option. If we sign CC we can trade Saunders, Weaver, or Adenhart. It would probably take a package around Weaver and Figgins who can play in LF to get Holliday.

- Go after Ibanez or Burrell. Ibanez for a couple years might ok until we can find someone in the minors to take over, and he'll still be a upgrade over Anderson. 

Ideally:

3B - Figgins

2B - Kendrick (this is a big question mark)

1B - Teixeira

DH - Vlad

CF - Hunter

C - Napoli

LF - Ibanez

RF - Morales

SS - Wood
