I just got thru reading 'The Confessions Of Nat Turner', who else has read this book??? I was just wondering what you thought of it, and your perspective... It was A great book, and I defo felt pain and sympathy for Him and another Black person in them times...I was discusted andof the treatment they received... It was disgusting and unimaginable how White people acted and how they treated Black people like animals back then.. Literally... I was just shocked, at the ignorance of white people, them thinking that they where superior back then to the Black race... So I could defo understand the Black Slaves revolting and fighting back slaying their oppressors, and to Be honest I agree with it, slaying the guilty and giving them A taste of their own medicine.... BUT, to Be honest at times in the book, I really took A disliking towards Nat... He came across like an arrogant dude, He didnt like Black Women, thought the common field worker was A lowly pitiful human being, and considered himself a cut above other black people, and tried acting/speaking like the white masters... Looked down on his fellow slaves uneducated discussions, espec in the Creole broken language... Thru out the book He was constantly disrespecting Blacks, and looked down on most of his fellow people, which I didnt like, and thought himself to good to socialize with 'the common folk'... All because He got to work in the house and sleep in the house... He also engaged in gay actives at least once in the book with another dude, which again is disgusting, and added to My sometime disike towards Him at times in the book... His first Master treated Him 'well' and Nat felt part of the family, and him and his wife taught Nat how to read and write, which was unheard of, Nat then mastered the Bible and became deeply religious... As you know if you read the book, hard times fell on the community and the farm went under... He promised Nat He would send Him to A good place and made an agreement after A few years, that the new owner would set Him free.... This never happened, and understandably Nat felt betrayed... Anyways, when Nat was treated like A normal Slave He grew understandably more bitter and hatred... This is when He says got A message from God to kill every white person in the County... Including babies, old people and women etc What I thought was abit out of order and strange is that He resented women and people that actually showed Him love and friendship, like when A young girl was telling her friends what a nice dude He was, and how religious He was and bragging how He knew every word in the Bible, He said how much He hated her and wanted to rape and murder Her... I thought that was bang outta order, what has She done expect show love and friendship??? Anyways when eventually gathered up his men, and went on the killing spree, He butchered and murder all the people in sight... Killing and also decapitating babies, infants and new borns, women, even the women who nursed him when He was on his death bed and treated him like A son and taught Him how to read... I agree with killing the slave masters, but cant agree with killing innocent babies and women that treated Him well and things like that... When you read the book, what did you think of Nat??? Im just curious to his what other people thought of him and his actions... If all this is true, and thats what Nat really did and thought of his fellow Black people, I just think He was abit of A messed up individual, I dont disagree with Him killing their oppressors, I just disagree with killing the innocent, and the way He disrespected average black folk, and black women... Be interesting to hear others views Peace

A message to those who trapped us up, from federal guys who backed them up
We never will die, we black and tough, lead in your eye, we strapped to bust Half of us been locked up inside the beast, look at the time we see Brooklyn to Compton streets, Queens, even the Congo needs dreams Our bullets and triggers our enemies pullin' on innocent women and children It wasn't no ghetto killers who mixed up the coke and put guns in our buildings But I'm not gon' cry, and I'm not gon' stand just watch you die I'ma pass you a .9, I'ma grab your hand -- come on let's ride A message to those who killed the king, who murdered the Christ The same regime, what God has built you never can break What God has loved you never can hate, man makes rules and laws You just a ruthless dog, your kennel is waiting You devils will run back into the caves you came from Whenever that day comes, forty-acres, plantations, see every race won Sincerely yours, Street's Disciple, revelations |

t/s i read the book and i dont remember anything hollerin how he was gay or any of that other shit. i could be mistaken but thats what i remember. and nat killing innocent white people is an oxymoron. none of them honkies where innocent. if they reaped the rewards of slavery then they were meant to be killed. hell i feel like nat and all those hunkeys would of been dead too.
i dont even fuck a ho on my bed unless we have a meaningful emotional bond.

He refused to talk to them etc... He also didnt like black women... Agreed tho, dude was on whole nother level lol I got major respect for alot of what He done |

You got A fucked up head if you think thats justified... I agree with the slave masters and the people who mistreated them being killed, but like I said, innocent girls and babys is a no no to Me... Yeh He jacked off and got jacked off by his friend... I forgot his name now.... |

I feel like he looked down on black people because he was a house **** so he probably was taught that. 2) My only guess when it comes to him wanting to kill and rape that girl is she telling people that he could read and knew all the words in the bible. Back then if his slave master found out he could read that could get him killed. 3)As Far as him killing baby's and women Slavery would mess anyone up so he probably don't feel sorry for anyone. At the end of the day they all were his slave master. |
