when Organizations form in order to fight poverty, how can this be done? if poverty was to end then what would there be? there's always a bottom and there's always a top. what is the difference between a person in poverty and one who is not? how do people become poor? and how or why are some born in poverty?

if we all agree that for every cause there's an effect. what causes poverty, and what causes wealth?

If poverty were "ended" worldwide, capitalism wouldn't/couldn't exist.

"You remember how much I used to like Plato. Today I realize he lied. For the things of this world are not a reflection of the ideal, but a product of human sweat, blood and hard labor. It is we who built the pyramids, hewed the marble for the temples and the rocks for the imperial roads, we who pulled the oars in the galleys and dragged wooden ploughs, while they wrote dialogues and dramas, rationalized their intrigues by appeals in the name of the Fatherland, made wars over boundaries and democracies. We were filthy and died real deaths. They were 'aesthetic' and carried on subtle debates." Tadeusz Borowski

Because capitalism itself results in wealth for a minority and poverty for the majority. The vast amount of wealth and power is in the hands of a few, not the working class, who owns it. So, if a worker is increasingly creating products that are then stolen by the capitalist who pays him a shitty wage compared to what he created, he loses.  : (

Capitalism itself is an economic problem, and no solution to poverty is possible without ending capitalism itself.

so the person who works to build a business, so he can hire the working class, deserves not to profit? I don't understand this thinking. people act as if jobs fall out the sky. In order for there to be jobs, someone as to take the risk in developing there ideas. If you work for someone/company you are being paid off someone Else's mind, idea, dream. To work for someone is to sell your time for a wage you accept. there is no forced labor in America.

for all the hard work the creator of allhiphop.com has put in should they be fair and give some other sites that hasn't put in the work, some of their traffick? no! they earned there spot through hard work and determination so they should reap the benifits of their ideas and dreams, and those they hire are hired at a competative wage based on their industry.

No doubt, being poor and living in poverty are 2 different things. I came from generations of poverty. My moms and myself are the only people in our family to break the "poverty cycle" in our family. Dude is right about capitalism though. It feeds the power structure. Donating money does not end the poverty cycle. EDUCATION/MONEY MANAGEMENT are the only things capable of breaking the poverty cycle. Real Talk

living from paycheck to paycheck, no savings, limited healthcare = poor

government assistance, delapadated housing, no healthcare = poverty

*Note poverty also implies that the generation before and after you shows no progress, maintaining this "cycle"

aslong as there economic systems like capitalism that depend on scarcity there will always be poverty

the diff. between them is that one kan do as they please the other knt...those in poverty struggle to get the basics...its so many factors and benfits from being wealthy

usually ppl are born into it ...alot of ppl wealthy today benefited from slavery and affrimative action(for euro men)

True... alot of the wealthy, really wealthy have old money from generations ago and got it from some foul sh*t. Saw a doc on the Rothchilds and show how they invested in a railroad from Hong Kong Harbour into China, what were they doing? Running Opium of course!

My Grandmaa's father grew up with no money in the Philippines (like the other 40 million people there). He started hussling when he was no older than 12, shinning shoes, making lemonade and stuff like that. He saved every cent. He got a job in a bakery. Worked during his lunch hours for someone else. One day he bought the bakery. Then another. Then another. etc etc. Then when he died when my gmaa was still young, her aunties wasted everything away so there was nothing left for her when she was 18. Wealth come and gone in barely a generation.

But my Gmaa always told me to never say 'Im poor' because you reinforce a mentality. Poor implies so much more than just not having money. We should say 'Im broke today' not 'Im poor'. Unless you really perceive yourself as poor.

I think equality is a start. Having food and shelter is a start. Somewhere to call Home. There are so many displaced persons worldwide due to famine and war (both man made tings) and that would be a good place to start IMO.

Ive always thought that for every fat person, someone is starving. Now we've started using food crops as so-called 'green-fuel'. Stupid.
