Since McCain want's Obama to explain his association with Ayers, McCain needs to explain his relationship with this radical terrorist.

Meet Gordon Liddy

For those who are unaware, Liddy helped plan the Watergate break-in that would cost Nixon his presidency and landed Liddy a four-year jail sentence. But Liddy's career of inflammatory statements and actions exceed his Watergate actions. How close are McCain and Liddy? At least as close as Obama and Ayers appear to be. In 1998, Liddy's home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator's campaigns--including $1,000 this year.

Liddy, on the impact Adolf Hitler had on him as a child:

Quote:

When he listened to Hitler on the radio, it "made me feel a strength inside I had never known before," he explains. "Hitler's sheer animal confidence and power of will [entranced me]. He sent an electric current through my body."

Liddy, on Vitenam:

Quote:

"I wanted to bomb the Red River dykes [sic]. It would have drowned half the country and starved the other half. There would have been no way the Viet Cong could have operated if we had the will-power to do that."

Liddy, advising Branch Davidians how to defend themselves from ATF agents during a radio show:

Quote:

"If the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms insists upon a firefight, give them a firefight. Just remember, they're wearing flak jackets and you're better off shooting for the head.

Liddy also said he should have recommended shots to the groin instead of the head. If that wasn't enough to inflame any nut cases, he mentioned labeling targets "Bill" and "Hillary" when he practiced shooting.

Notorious Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy is a McCain supporter. In fact, Liddy, who at one time plotted to murder a journalist, has been donating money to McCain for the past decade. Liddy calls McCain "a good, personal friend". McCain has appeared on Liddy's radio show. and McCain's website provides call-in info to Liddy's show, asking supporters to contact the ex-con. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," he gushed. "It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great."

Liddy didn't exactly turn squeaky clean when he emerged from prison. In the mid-1990s, he instructed listeners about the best way to kill federal agents, Liddy has also bizarrely suggested that the Watergate break-in had something to do with a mythical call-girl ring run out of Democratic National Committee headquarters. Not exactly a reformed or repentant man

she stays catching Ls

“This is our time to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can.”

it would be less accurate to call Liddy a "terrorist" because his criminal acts would probably be ascribed to other purposes (unlike Ayers). Liddy would probably be better identified as a "convicted felon that McCain associates with."

this is where the question then becomes "what was the context of the commentary on shooting federal agents."

also, i believe Ayers can be said to have helped place bombs, whereas i don't recall Liddy shooting any agents, though he DID obviously get sent to jail for criminal activity. hence the label.

I don't care what you say, but last time I heard a Hitler speech( I can actually understand what he says) I got a similair feeling. I mean I would chop his ****g tonque of if i would have ever met him and break his arms and legs, but still the emotion/will the man put in his speeches was incredible.......this is an aspect I believe many leaders had. from Toetmosis the third to Napeleon, Cyrus to Djenghis Khan........probably a lot of the so called 'prophets' had that verbal explosion/impact that inpired/influenced many......I'm convinced the likes of 'Zarathustra', Mohammed, Echnaton and Jesus(dead sea scroll jesus) mainly depended on their speechcraft skills and were able to move people just with the power of their voices and the will/emotion they put into it.

edit: for the record(because I somehow do care what people have to say lol) I'm not co-signing what Hitler said in his speeches, I'm talking about the way he brings his speeches. so not the contend but the way he talks.

well, on the internet everything is much more polarized; when i'm roaming around in real life i'm always mixing it up with Republicans who a) are too conservative for me and b) call me sexist because i don't like much about Palin beyond her stance on guns. and this is why i end up arguing with everyone.
