Fun Fact: When the bullet hits a organ, the tissue becomes for lack of a better word homogenized because of the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the bullet traveling through water (in cells that make up all organs). Going through an organ leaves a gaping hole (exit wound) which, depending on the organ, can cause rapid blood loss. If the bullet goes through the body and out the other side, a large exit wound will occur.
