I don't think they had the singles success, the touring, and two artists that they signed go platinum within 1 year.
I think Nelly could compete with Singles...Hot In Heerre and that Kelly Rowland Song was everywhere...
In terms of Sales Em got him with Eminem Show and 8 Mile Soundtrack...had the # 1 song, album and movie in the US at the same time. Em did sign 50 in 02 who sold mad records with his debut in early 03. Obie went Gold...
In Terms of singles and tours ur right.

Then explain why Jay fans so loyal i can only think of Eminem fans that ride as hard for him as Jay fans do with him. It was Pac that was the black demographic token Rapper the most loved but since Jay's business sucess i think he kinda taken that spot of blacks Hip Hop fans feeling pride of a succesful Rapper financially. Don't get me wrong Musically there are countless Rappers loved more than Jay but just looking at it from a wealth/business sucess perspective and the confidence he gives to his fans who many feel a need for pride in a Rapper with money of that level.
From a business perspective Diddy is bigger than JayZ and he did it with less musical talent.
JayZ lost many fans when he traded in Dame Dash for Chris Martin.
Master P is more inspirational to me than JayZ because Master P put his entire family and city in the game so they could eat.
Why is JayZ signing southern rappers instead of NY rappers, why he sign K-Koke instead of Uncle Murda?
JayZ lost me when he started his last album with Luke Steele and ended it with Chris Martin....that ain't Black pride.
