not necessarily. it can also help to build tough skin. a couple times lil man in the red started to get in his feelings and the camera guy asked him why he was feeling it. in other words, telling him this shit ain't personal it's just jokes. i think it's plausible that there is just as high a probability, if not higher, of one becoming impervious to jokes about their skin color(or whatever impetus for ridicule) because they were teased about it when they were a kid, as to one becoming hypersensitive about it.

how they're taught to deal with ridicule is paramount; once they get taught victimization it's all down hill from there...
