The problem with saying that we should denounce it all is that it assumes people are emulating all things violent. You can clearly see the correlation between a rapper's persona and how that influences how most Blacks dress, what they value in terms of material things, how they talk, walk, etc. That's a problem that doesn't lie in the lap of White media or White radio station execs. That shit falls on us. We place value in these bird bitches from Housewives and these lame niggas that rap about destroying they're community because "it's all I know". Until social stigmas return in the Black community that make these individuals villians instead of heroes, we'll bestuck with destructive music made by niggas with no real message behind their music

It's absolutely detrimental to African Americans. You see the results that hip hop has had on a generation. There is no more drive. Education has taken a backseat to niggas thinking they're the next dope rapper. Expectations have been lowered and every stereotype that can be attributed to the Black community can be attributed to hip hop - even though a majority of the rappers personas were created by White execs. Essentially, we have had our culture dictated to us by White America then asked to assimilate to their culture. They've just used Ross and Wayne to sell it to us

Absolutely not. I think it's an extremely difficult choice to make. But when you consider the trauma you inflict on a child by dealing with a father who does not want him/her, the pressures put on them by being a latch key kid while their mother works to support him, the drama involved with fighting and potential court visits for child support, and the strain of needing your father in your life, abortion clearly is the best option in the vast majority of cases miss

When people talk about the joys of marriage they usually look at the relationships their parents or grandparents had. However, you have to realize that divorce was not an option back then, at least not a socially accepted option. Think of all the people that cheated back in the day, women that got their ass beat by their husbands, etc. but had to stay because they couldnt do anything else. Marriage is and always has been an unrealistic institution. The idea of it is great. The reality??? Not so much...
