lol, NC is in the south, but still has some east coast flavor. It's on the east coast for crying out loud.

I still consider J Cole a southern rapper with an east coast flow. Has nothing to do with being southern or from up north.
Everytime a rapper from the south has an east coast flow (Jay Elec, J Cole, Phonte, etc) people try to say they sound like they're northern. Not true, VA and NC both have east coast vibes and they're in the south

Man I think Slim could've been a mid level mainstream rapper. I know the major labels came back knocking after "Years Later" dropped.
Dude had hits, "Love Me Or Love Me Not" could've been big if promoted right.

BET Awards Nominations
I know BET has to get their ratings, but these nominations make little sense.
Nas being a "Centric" rapper now! C'Mon, dude dropped a #1 album out of all genres in his first week and had (IMO) the best rap album of the past year. Dude should've been nominated for hiphop artist of the year.
I didn't know Jay Z & Kanye dropped an album in the last 12 months!
