Kd is still the best player in the league after Bron. But people are acting like Memphis is a fluke. I said it 2 months ago. They are solid in all facets of the game and solid at all 5 positions on the court. Don't be suprised if they scrape the Heat.

SAD BUT TRUE!! that last eddi murphy movie tower heist fell victim to this. Eddi said that he originally wanted him, chris rock, martin, dave chapelle, keven heart, mike epps, and katt williams. But they gave him some bogus ass excuse(like usual) and they started naming other actors who happened to be white lol. I whole heartedly agree and it's one of the goals I have...honestly we need a black film in every category..Horror/Action/Drama/Epic/Coming of Age....

Crazy part is that Robert Townsend and Spike were on that shit like 20 years ago, the only difference is, I feel they were TOO "pro-black" and alienated other races from enjoying the films. I truly feel like if you make some genre films where the characters just so happen to be black but the themes are very much universal..you WILL make a profit.
Takers did a really good job at achieving this...and Drumline did as well a few years ago...too bad black people weren't Nick Cannon supporters because he was on his way with his film selections (Love Don't Cost a Thing, Drumline etc)
Hope you make it but that's the major issue with these movies being made. the studio's aren't sure how black folks will react and they know for sure that white folks tend to stay away from all black casted moives regardless of the the genre of movie. that's why studio's try so hard no to have movies branded as "black"movie. It turn all other races away. While black folks just show love and will go see any movie that is entertaining regardless of the race of the cast in the movie. . We know hollywood is all about that dollar. so they wont' even waste time with some of these ideas.
and i know a lot of black folks who fucked with drumline but you need more than just black folks. i really didn't like Takers but they had and half and half cast. I think if they had went full board action instead of trying to keep it PG 13 it would have been better.
they did the same thing with green lantern. He was originally supposed to be black but they made him white shortly after because of what you just said. Then they went back and made them two different lanterns at some point back in the day.Thats true about white people not wanting to see "Black Movies" Truth is most white people are prejudice moviegoers. I remember watching spawn when it 1st came out. I was like why did they change terry into a white guy? And I think Todd Mcfarlane said the studios did that becuz they didn't want people to think it was a "black movie" SMFH. White people are something else.

A lotta people in this thread have the right idea but we all know that an all Black version of Tower Heist wouldve been bootlegged heavy which wouldve cut down the profit considerably and the white execs know this.
The best thing would be for the black power players in Hollywood to finance the Last Pharoah themselves and put it on BET, TVONE, CENTRIC as a series on some Roots type ish. Something we could gather round the tv with the family after sunday dinner and watch together.

Dont yall get it. Interscope is trying to create another Tupac type character. Remember all the b.s. that Pac got into before Death Row. His first three album were on Interscope.
