The sooner my children learn that the world isn't what you see on Disney Jr or VH1 the better.

If they got the means to do for themselves, I'm wishing them well and telling them not to forget to call they Mom every now and again.

At that age they should have the freedom to be a teenager, not worried about bills and a roof over their head. 15 is too young. They have all their life to let reality beat their ass, there's no need to rush it a few years.

If they think they are ready to fly, I'm pushing them from the nest. School and work @ the same time is difficult for an adult, so I can only imagine how insane it must be for a teen.

The ends justify the means for me in this case

It is insane and a hard headed teenager is going to sink more often then swim. All you said is good hypothetically but in reality it will fuck up your kids, they will feel abandoned regardless of the circumstances. And more often than not they will make fucked up decisions that will stay with them. A 15 year old isn't mentally capable of being on their own, there are better ways to teach them a lesson.
