Lets keep it 100.
these churchs are ripping people off.
I was at a church in NC and the pastor got gully and was asking people to stand in certain line depending on what they were tithing. a line for $20, $50 and $100.
now we know people like to look good in church...so everybody trying to stand in the big tither lines.
needless to say that was the last time i went to that church when in NC.
Then you look at these pastors driving Bentleys, got helicopters and mega mansions.
One pastor name is Creflo Dollar. the man has money in his last name.
they are pimp the Lord for financial gain and dont have to pay taxes for it.
think about that. Million dollar churchs thats tax exempt.
you can have 250 members in morning service and more in the afternoon since people dont want to get up on Sundays.
so you have like 500+ members maybe tithing $20 each. the church bringing in close to $10k a week. this is a small church. so 40k a month is ok to not be taxed? what is the $40k for? maintenance? paying the ushers? helping the community or the people?
the Bible indicates we should tithe 10% of our earnings. is this a line that was entered by man during the
re-wordingtranslating of the Bible from one language to another?
Now back to the question.
Should the Church continue to be tax exempt?
You expect objective voting when you only discuss questionable churches? Not every pastor is balling and not every church is trying to rip people off. Some actually change lives for the better. You're better than that.
