I wanted to know what the IC thinks of Metacritic.com. If u never heard of metacritic, it's a website that gives a movie, tv show, video games and music albums a score based on the mainstream reviews it gets. These are the highest scoring hip hop albums on metacritic:
1) Stankonia (by Outkast) score=95
2) My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (by Kanye West) score=94
3) Madvillainy (by Madvillain) score=93
4) In Search of.... (N.E.R.D.) score=92
5) Boy In Da Corner (by Dizzie Rascal) score=92
6) Labor Days (by Aesop Rock) score=92
7) Speakerboxx/The Love Below (by Outkast) score=91
8) good kid, M.A.A.D. City (by Kendrick Lamar) score=91
9) A Grand Don't Come For Free (by The Streets) score=91
10) Original Pirate Material (by The Streets) score=90
The scores indicate:
81-100=universal acclaim
61-80=generally favorable reviews
41-60=mixed reviews
40>=generally negative reviews
So what do ya think of metcritic? Reliable? Unreliable? Do those high scores for the top 10 most acclaimed hip hop albums represent the quality of those albums? What ya think of metacritic?
