The media has done a fantastic job destroying the common core without having a clue what it really is and why it's needed?.
Thats not a factual statement, in fact common core has already been implemented into most of the states curriculum, it doesn't sound like the media destroyed anything. In fact states were told that if they don't implement common core they wouldn't receive federal funding.
A lot of my family, wife included, are teachers and are fully behind the common core. Yes, it takes some work to transition to but I'm really excited for my son and daughter because the new math programs are awesome and I'm very impressed with the reading and writing work he is doing as well.
riddle me this, if life and education before the common core were so awesome, why does the US rank so poorly in education behind the other industrialized nations? No one has disputed this, this is a straw man argument to delegitimize my point. So basically are you saying just because this countries education system is failing anything new introduced is automatically better?
The reason largely was we taught kids how to take tests, not how to think! They were also not being challenged nearly enough. Again you're using a true statement to legitimize an argument that has nothing to do with how good or effective the common core will be
If you want to learn more about what is and what is not the common core and not simply consume soundbites and video clips to learn about it..read this.
I read it and it's a bunch of jargon and rhetoric. Some of it is out right lies and propaganda
The American education system has not created critical thinkers, its created lazy thinkers who are too quick to form an opinion on nearly anything from the flimsiest sources be it a single article, point of view or incomplete information and soundbites.
LOL did you even look at the clip it's teaching our kids how to form groupthink opinions based on emotions and on top of that teaching them to subversively be defiant towards their parents
