Why are you glad he's charged with a hate crime? If that was a woman he shot, he wouldn't have been charged with a hate crime so why do you approve of giving preferential treatment to one group of people above others? Doesn't seem very feminist to me, feminists want equality for all.
Some states don't require you by law to reveal that you have an STD, do you also approve of those havin unprotected sex with an unsuspecting partner if they know they're positive for an STD?
It's sad that you think this transgender person doesn't have a moral responsibility to alert her partners that he is actually a man dressing as a woman.

I think the part you're not getting is we all agree that if you shoot someone you pay the price for shooting them... but in this case hate crime seems like a stretch. It's more like a crime of passion. He was tricked by a sex partner and got butthurt (pun intended) and shot him.
It's not like he was just riding around with a gun looking for random trannies to shoot.
But I think we all know what really happened here... Dude tried to get some sneaky brains from a tranny on the low and his friends found out and clowned the shit out of him and he pretended he didn't know and figured the only way to redeem himself was to shoot the guy.
I can concede to that point of it being a stretch as a hate crime.
But how was she tricking him?
A transwoman doesn't think of herself as a man in the first place.
