T-4. Detroit Pistons
Proj. record: 45-37
Last season: 44-38
The Pistons are bringing back virtually the same roster they fielded last postseason, which would explain an increase of only one win by our panel. Last season, the Pistons didn't have many peaks or valleys: They never finished a month more than three games above or below .500.
The Pistons have quietly made a lot of good off-season moves so I think we'll will finish a lot closer to 50 wins this year.
Let's not forget the Pistons were 17-11 after the Tobias Harris trade, and 14-7 when he begin to start, that alone is a projection of either 50 or 55 wins.
We have the biggest depth at the center spot since adding 7'3" Boban Marjanovic (who can shoot free throws) to backup Drummond, as well as solidified our "stretch four position" with drafting Henry Ellenson and then picking up Jon Leuer.
Stanley Johnson should be ready to make a good jump of improvement in his sophomore season too.
It's nice to be "ranked" #4, but that was just a lazy analysis by ESPN. Oh well, the Pistons usually get no respect.
