Overall I'm going to go with a solid 8.5 outta 10.... I think musically kanye put forth a project that manages to blend genres and sounds in a real interesting way that I feel he has been known to do throught his career ... Theres at least 9 to 10 different styles popping off throught this record from house to dancehall to punk rock to rap to rnb and so on ... His ability to make all of these sounds marry is what should be noted and appreciated without question ...
Lyrically I think we get the same witty humorous self absorbed honest and conflicted character that most fans of his work have grown to appreciate over the past decade of him being in the game ... Tracks like "blood on the leaves" give off vivid accounts of the impacts fame successes and ego can have on a relationship ...while tracks like "new slaves" (completely different conceptually) delve into the dynamics of cross class racism & corporate exploitation ...I think this wide ranging array of perspectives has always made kanye a unique artist in the sense that you can never predict what point of veiw he's going to approach his music from ... I think that's refreshing from an artist as globally successful as he has become and serves as a reason for continued intrest in his work ..
Overall I like the feel the vibe and the experimentation of this record ...from the first track "on sight" crashung in with distorted synths and muffled percussion you definately realize your not in for the typical sonic experience ...and I can appreciate an artist for taking the risk of losing people at the benifit of artistic expression ...I feel that this album summarizes a mans trials and tribulations in dealing with success praise stardom admiration as well as hate loss pain injustice doubt and so on ... I believe that's why he named the album "Yeezus" it's in a sense (and in the simplest form) him stating that like the biblical character his ascension to popularity also comes with heavy burden ...
Like I said before 8.5/10
...overall high quality project one of my favorites of the year
Kanye can be witty...lines like "Then her auntie came over/Skinny bitch with no shoulders" and "Eating asian pussy I need sweet and sour sauce" are just bad
You take two lines you personally don't like out of an entire album worth of material and your trying to prove to me .......what exactly?
I suppose you didn't read the word dirrrrrrreeeccctly next to witty btw ...lol

If it takes u more than 1 listen to enjoy or understand an album then the shit is not that great, niggas got to give it the drunk test the high test, the headphone test, the dre by beats test, gotta sequence the tweeters, treble test all types of shit.
That tells me u is a sheep u dont want to feel left out, there's have to be genius in the music.
I tell u though, Yeezus is going to be then anthem at homosexual clubs and raves
As a dude from the Midwest with family in Watts, I know of a lot of shit. Most gangs started out as community protection and unity, and Civil Rights movement offsprings, until they succumbed to the divide and conquer philosophy of the government.
Fuck who you think is harder, we must educate, unite, and take care of our own like we were doing before we went astray.
