You and daniels are obviously trolls but I'll indulge anyway, whites buy rap like every musical genre Black ppl have created because they like it so stop acting like they doing artists some favor by buying their work. Van gogh only sold one painting in his lifetime, Shakespeare sold minimally--selling/making money isn't what makes an artist an artist. But that you can't really explain that to some folks.

so what/ Why should anyone care about their "success" or money going into their pocket? Jay z's bank account has no affect on my life but the comfort level that alot of these rappers are giving white people in saying racist slurs does have an affect. Catering to whites is why hip hop is in the pathetic state it is in today. Rap was better when it was black inspired. Cut a tree off from it's roots and it will surely die. Rap music is the single most influential medium for black youths in America. Especially if you are a kid that lacks a positive father figure or male role models in your life. People like to bring up the violent movies and say rap is equivalent -just entertainment, but rap's origin was based on truth telling/authenticity. Wasn't NWA, Nas Ice T etc speaking truths about life in the hood. You're not going to identify with Italian actor in Hollywood, who is obviously playing a gangster, like you might a young Black rapper who looks like you or someone you know esp if they rep your city/state. Even inspite of the fact rap has gotten away from its roots and alot of rappers have been exposed as no really about that life, kids black and white still want to believe the lie.

Tech N9ne is a beast, real skills. Doesn't bother me that he is a different type of dude I can appreciate him for that.

I don't know who the OP likes. But its crazy to me to say SH is wack. SH is one of the more lyrical groups out there. But they could use more variety of subject, storytelling and some personal real shit. They aren't kids, they should use their maturity to bring out some deep shit. Unfortunately the cornballs and gay gimmick rappers are what sells. It just shows that alot of people who don't have a sense of hip hop history are on the bandwagon. Sales represent the comsumers not neccesarily the artist's skills. And someone said Crooked is the worst wtf?
