Boy I hope the Wii U fails and Nintendo goes the Sega route. I want some Zelda on a non Nintendo system.
Since there is absolutely NO TRUST in the Police, it's better that the kids have guns and be properly trained and hopefully spend more time at the gun ranges...the Police have failed the entire society. they are worthless. time to take that power back and put back into the hands of the people.
As someone who went to majority black middle and high schools as well as an HBCU, I fail to see how race plays into this shit in any major way. There is most definitely a eurocentric lean in a lot of curricula out there, but race doesn't factor into subjects like math, sciences, other languages, etc... but people are still failing that shit. The curricula isn't built for asians in mind either, yet they are thriving. So why can't we? Maybe it's because we spend too much time trying to blame others for our failures than figuring out what we can do better.
I haven't done any kind of nationwide study so all I can speak on is my personal experience. I remember in high school the handful of whites there generally did better than a lot of the blacks. It wasn't because they were smarter though. It was because even the dumbasses and fuck-ups actually bothered to do their work. Niggas on the other hand were completely blowing the shit off and doing things like sleeping through the Exit Exam. On top of that, when the white kids fucked up, their parents were on their asses. When the black kids fucked up, their parents either didn't give a shit or wanted to fuss at the teacher rather than get on their kids.
@bolded. wouldnt integration be an effect of that? now the house hold is broke up. black bitches rather have kids to get food stamps and child support than just wait to atleast you graduate from high school? or what about their aint no good man but when one does come by me he's a lame as nigga black woman? doggie. integration is baaaaaaaaad. and i know that from first hand experience
Huh? How is integration responsible for any of that? Now I admit, I've never read through the full law that integrated the country but I don't remember integration mandating any of that shit.
Again, it seems to me that people want to just take black problems and blame them on everyone else rather than look inward. People like to throw out that black families and the community in general were stronger before integration and then label integration as the cause. That's bad logic. That's like saying that black people were more productive with their days before slavery, so the abolition of slavery is the reason for a lot of the laziness you see since then.
Integration isn't bad. If it was, all non-white communities would be suffering. Asian Americans are doing well. The Hispanic Community is on the rise. Hell, even Blacks who immigrate here from outside of America do well for themselves. The difference between us and them is that they are out there working to succeed and instilling those principles in their children, while we're failing and then doing everything we can to find someone to blame for those failures.
I was reading the posts in this thread earlier, quite frankly I agree with what Maino did. Come on yall this is fucking Trinidad James trying to shit on New York let me say it again - TRINIDAD JAMES THE JEROME LOOKING NIGGA SMMFH. Reading the responses is funny to me, isn't this what you suppose to do ? When Kendrick dropped Control niggas was going IN on NY saying it wasn't no representation and perceived as soft so niggas like Kendrick Lamar could do shit like, come to Brooklyn perform the verse and and then leave scott free. If you let Trinidad James come thru YOUR city and take a dump on it and diss it, where does the bar fall for future fuck niggas coming into NY and doing the same ? You have to draw a line and that's what Maino did. Don't matter if Maino is a great rapper or whatever, the point is that he stands up for his city & let's niggas know it's not ok. Had niggas tried that in Houston if woulda been Bun B, Scarface, J.Prince, and Trae at the gate with goons best believe - likewise with Cali and other places.
You can't throw rocks at the mecca of Hip-Hop like it's cool so you can sell records and not get checked. The fucked up part is, there's more artists who have at least some type of minimal obligation to say something and Maino was the only nigga to say something about it. I'd slap that nigga in the face too & collect interest if he came stomping thru my hometown saying his hometown runs mine.
I've said it before - people dont take things into consideration long term, every dog has it's day, you keep knocking on the devil's door and sooner or later he's gonna answer. Remember NY is not a little place, this is the mecca of rap and one of the biggest and most powerful cities in the world who also happen to be the home of every major label (save for Interscope) in the game. Eventually SOMEBODY is gonna rise from NY, bring everybody on board with all the pent up frustration and unleash a fury like never before see..... slowly I see the workings of a lightweight South vs. NY beef brewing. The ingredients are definitely there.
@Sion The problem with a NY vs South rap beef is as it's been pointed out before NY is just NY while the south means ALL of the south. All it would do is show what was already known before southern rappers started getting major deals like nothing and that's NY needs the south more than the south needs NY in terms of fans, touring, and overall generating revenue. If nothing else the southern independent game showed how little the south needs NY to be relevant in rap while NY apparently needs the south more than they like to let on
I know and cosign, but when NY is on NY is on and when that day comes they won't need them. It won't hurt the south when NY does but there are some very important characteristics to be aware of. I remember Snoop said the same thing around 2001 on the Chronic Tour reflecting on the East/West war but it didn't stop Cube, Tim Dog and later on Suge & Puff and Mobb Deep & 2Pac from raising cain.
These things take time and you can slowly see the inner roots forming. All these people taking shots at NY, shitting on the city and disrespecting it, New Yorkers are a very proud people and won't shrug shit under a rug - show me a New Yorker that has, take 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Nas, Mobb Deep, KRS-One, LL Cool J, 2Pac for example... It's easy to get caught up in the hype and lose yaself, but as I say... history doesn't repeat it self but it rhymes.... TJ like Tim Dog, both nobodies who didn't start the war but definitely cracked open Pandora's Box. All it takes is one young, frustrated and misunderstood nigga with something to prove and the machine behind to fuel his rise and sure enough it will happen. And all he's gotta say is "where would yall be without us" in a disrespectful and hurtful way to make heads turn and blood pressures rise.
It's not the characters in the fight we have to worry about it's the media and the emotions of the ignorant who want to see blood. And with social media being as expansive and accessible compared to the shit we had in the 90s can you imagine ? These are things that scare me because the last major beef killed an era .
You're right, some new NY rapper will come through at some point and have his time. Thing is though, like another poster said already, not everybody rocks with NY and NY needs to accept that. Accept that some people simple don't fuck with NY rap music or hell even NY in general. Yes hip-hop started in NY but you can see NY still trying desperately to hold onto the "If it don't got the NY stamp of approval then it's not good" mold and hip-hop is simply too big now to try and contain it to that. I think if more NY rap folks realized that NY needs hip-hop and not the other around like"Hip-hop needs NY" they'll overall become better again because they'll get out of their own way. Part of the appeal of the south is "We don't care if you like it or not, it's our version of hip hop and we love it" while too many Ny'ers are screaming "This isn't hip-hop if it don't sound like this"...a NY vs south beef would fail based on the fact that Ny'ers can't even agree on hip-hop let alone agree enough to go at the entire south over it
