Frank ocean isnt a great singer but he has range. His music is more about his vision than just holding a tune. Channel orange was definitely one of the best R&B albums ive ever heard. I thought him and the Weeknd were on the same level but after that album he showed hes way ahead of his peers creatively.
One reason i think people are indentifying him as a rapper is because he doesnt really focus on hitting notes as he tries more to show his abstract lyricism in his songs.
Call me crazy but channel orange and good kid maad city are parallel in many ways in that they just are creatively, dare i say ingenious (for this climate) bodies of work.
Edit: that nigga still played his self for selecting that homo ass song for the grammys but i guess thats his role to play the gay embassador for modern urban culture. Smh
Anyone over the age of 21 who eats at a restaurant(buffets, gratuity already included, EXTREMELY bad service exluded) and doesnt tip at least 15 percent is a bumb ass classless, low life. Its funny because the people who tip like shit have the most demands at restaurant. Trust me serving tables is a lot harder than it looks.
Kendric doesnt have a great flow. Hes more about his lyrics and content. I cant see him being a mainstream superstar and thats fine because he will be forced to water down his style a lot.
