TSIA.

Also, what if the WCW/ECW never was bought by Vince/WWE, do you think the WWE would still be as big as it is today?

wCw - Great production value, Realism, “Reality-Wrestling”, Story-line Cliffangers, “Intense Worked Shoots”, The Cruiserweight Division, International Wrestlers. Factions

ECW - 🤬 , Intense Promos w/ Realism, Taking the camera backstage more often, Crowd Chants, Intense and “Multiple” key word “Multiple” story-lines, Stables, **Variety**, ECW Booking Process

And if Vince didn't buy wCw then Bishoff would have,
and I believe if that would have happened, then Vinny Mac would either be #2 right now or in a tie for1st place as the #1 Wrestling Organization in the United States.

Summarizing that if Eric would had purchased Turner Entertainment's (wCw property) wCw would only be #1 due to Eric still being in good with Ted Turner and being able to have access to those television networks, (TNT & TBS) but WWE would still be a Force in the business.

ECW would still be around if Paul Heyman knew how to run a business.

WCW: Production values, they were first to do live tv shows on a weekly basis.

ECW: Storylines and realism, 1st to talk about legit injuries (What caused the injury) on air.

WCW/ECW both helped shape the WWE because they both came with original ideas and big name stars that help make the WWE that much bigger once they were bought out.

ECW was a slept on giant killer, and was secretly Vince's biggest fear. They began as a small time chitlin circuit type of organization, but they brought a raw 🤬 appeal that spoke to the new generation of wrestling fans which Vince was unable to tap into at the time because he was still all about the pagentry of good versus evil fantasy that came with old school wrestling like when his dad ran the WWF.

WCW was only around because Ted Turner was a big fan of wrestling but couldn't buy the WWF from Vince's father before he took over, so Turner along with Eric Bischoff started the WCW. No one expected it to take off as big as it did, especially since it mostly toured the south and parts of the east coast. But it gave an anti-WWF feeling which for some reason appealed to the fans of it.

Vince was smart by not buying both the WCW/ECW at first but instead, snagging their biggest stars with more money and a bigger stage to play on. So with that it gave them no other option but to sell to Vince. But I think if they were never bought, they might've even beat out the WWE in fan following.

    Nah, that's revisionism cuz.

Truth is, WCW signed its own death warrant and the AOL/Time merger carried out the sentence. Bischoff let Hogan & Nash and the rest of them old stiffs run the promotion like their own personal fiefdom. Nobody wanted to watch that 🤬 when they had Rock, Austin, Foley, and DX on the other channel. Why watch the FINGERPOKE OF DOOM when Foley's winning the belt on the other channel? WWF didn't steal their biggest stars, they stole their biggest TALENT, talent WCW was sleeping on. See: Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero. In WCW those 3 were permanent midcarders. Hiring Russo was a disaster imho, word to WrestleCrap. Funny thing is, Nitro was still getting 3.0+ Nielsens at the end, which is what Raw is doing now. But Ted Turner's influence was weakened by the AOL merger, and the same 🤬 executive who cancelled Animaniacs and told Batman: TAS to "tone it down" cancelled Nitro.

You act like Vince could've bought WCW the whole time lol, WCW brought WWF to the brink of death. Vince was gonna let Bret Hart, his world champ & icon of the company, walk to WCW simply because he couldn't afford to pay dude's big contract anymore.

    As for ECW...............

Paul Heyman has already said that Vince was secretly funneling him money to keep ECW afloat for YEARS. ECW was never gonna beat WWF for the same reason a 🤬 like Styles P will never out-sell Jay-Z, they made a 🤬 product for a 🤬 fanbase.

By 2001, both companies were in shambles. Vince just swept up the pieces. And if he hadn't bought ECW, Heyman would have begged him to.

Most accurate answer so far...don't believe me (or him), youtube "the rise and fall of wcw" dvd and they will pretty much cosign that whole post.

WCW shaped helped WWE by raiding them for their older, established wrestlers forcing them to create new stars.(i.e. The Rock, Stone Cold, Triple H, etc...) Also WCW's edgier product forced WWE to be edgier which of course with the wrestlers mentioned above played in their hands.

ECW helped mainly by just being 🤬 . Vince started having many more 🤬 matches and created the 🤬 title because of ECW's success.
