Been working really hard this year, finally my career has kicked off, but I've missed out on a lot (I hope) of hip hop, can anyone get me up to scratch? I have Reflection Eternal, Open Mike Eagle, Sade and Nas with Damian Marley, not sure what else I've missed?

ILLUS: Feel Good Music. Incredible album. Production by J.J. Brown. Illus has been doing it a long time but this album he has really stepped up. I've seen him on tour with Public Enemy and Dilated Peoples and he always kills it live. And his track with R.A> the Rugged Man and Chuck D off of Rise of the Machines is ROUGH! Dude can do it all. Battle songs, love songs, grimy rugged songs, weird songs....he's probably the most versatile rapper out.

Going to give Distant Relatives quite a few more listens as I'm going their tour next month.
But, so far, this year, I think it's been relatively disappointing. It's a good thing Madlib is dropping monthly... there's no 'Boy Meets World' thus far, that really shines... maybe we were spoilt last year with that one. -
