and what they stand for?
i've never seen or heard a white person say, "paris hilton's cooch pics make me ashamed to be white"
so why do black people feel the need to let certain 🤬 dictate their self worth?

Cause we self conscious 🤬 , always worrying about what this and that person does. The same reason why whites don't have any so called leaders leading "the white movement". (Besides the nazis but that's another story)

Whites are the majority in this country and in control of how most people in entertainment, regardless of race, are portrayed. It's hard to be paranoid when most of what you see is created by people of your own background.

The black community is a monolith, that's why white people are always looking to talk to "our" black leaders (jesse jackson, al sharpton,etc) when something pops off. It's too many one track minded people and sheeps in my humble opinion and part of the reason why we don't have sub cultures like other cultures.

If I was to reply to this thread as though I would let the group of black people who "let 1 black person or 1 group of black people define who they are" define who I am or who black people are as a whole, I'd be doing exactly what this thread is referring to.
But I don't do that, so I won't respond in such a manner. -

every race does this. people just don't like being limited to one stereotype and sometimes you gotta make it known that that ain't you. most people use the first impression as the last. it happens. or sometimes you can do 100 things right in your life, but that one time you did something wrong is what people will remember. if it matters that they're wrong correct them, but don't please them.
