Why Chris Paul Should Win The NBA MVP

IMO the MVP award is or should be given to the player that best represents the utmost value to their team through the confluence of their stats, team success, leadership and late game heroics. That said the one and only player that epitomizes what an MVP is is Chris Paul.

Right now his putting up good to great numbers, he's averaging 19.2 ppg, 3.6 rpg and 8.6 apg...shooting 48% from the field... 44% from 3... Undeniably he's the leader of his team ...He's clutch, he's already made 3 game winning shots this season. And the Clippers who didn't make the playoffs last season are on top of their division

His competition....

Durant is set to win a third-straight scoring title, and I'm know I'm nit picking but he is on the most well-run squad from top-to-bottom outside of the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder are one of the deepest squads in the league. And he plays w/a top 5 pg in Westbrook

Yes, LeBron is putting up gaudy numbers... However the Heat are the deepest teams in the league, he can afford to have an off night because he can defer to Wade or Bosh so he is playing with no pressure at least for the first 3 quarters of games
...and he still struggles when his team needs his leadership and scoring in close, late game situations... very un-MVP-ish imho...

The Bulls have one of the best records in the league but Rose has been struggling with injuries all season

With that said...

CP3 has turned the LAC franchise completely around and makes everybody better.... and should be given the MVP if he can continue his play and can carry the once lowly Clippers to a 3,4 seed in the playoffs with Billups in a cast, Blake Griffin still finding himself..... and with the exception of Moe Williams no bench to speak of...

MVPs dont score 9 points in a game, or 4 or 2 for that matter. And to make matters worse the Clips actually won 2 of those games.

being he is the point guard he doesn't necessarily have to be their primary scorer to be effective or a MVP candidate...if you watch their games you would see he can command the offense and the tempo of the game without scoring a point with his ability to make plays... the Clips would more than likely be 5,6 games below .500 without CP3

Tony Parker should be MVP before Chris Paul, but the media wont even acknowledge this fact.

Easily more of a candidate than Paul.

2 Points?? I dont care what position you play on the court....you cannot be an MVP with scoring 2, 4 or 9 points in 4 quarters.

chris paul will never win an mvp in his career, no matter how good he plays...because he has that quality where people are just willing to overlook his effort so its all good

If Kidd didn't win the first 2 years with the nets no pg should ever win it

You not taking into account the horrible defense he has played this season. A MVP candidate should be dominate on both ends. Bron fits the criteria perfectly.

it dont matter, chris paul will never win an mvp even if his team was leading the west all year, because his name is not kevin durant, rose, lebron, or dwight howard...they have more fans then he does, which translates to espn hypin the niggas most people talk about....
