EARLY parties are the key to keeping your sanity. The place was nearly empty when her party started..but not so much when it was time to go. -

I feel like it wouldn't be as awkward if it weren't at a house....plus I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to be the only whitey there.
She's extra excited about going though, so it's a done deal. Maybe she'll make a playmate...she needs some friends in our new side of town.

Well you're the black person in the marriage, why are none of your people showing up to your daughter's bday parties?
And it's not so much being the only white person cause I've been there plenty of times, but I KNEW those people..this will be a house full of strangers.
Mom sounded really nice when I called to RSVP though, so I think it will be fine. -
