Dust off the leather jacket; Boy in Police Station is coming back for ABC sitcom

Charlie Sheen is about to find himself in trouble with the law again — but this time it’s for show.

“Anger Management” star Sheen is reprising his breakthrough role in the 1986 film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on an upcoming episode of ABC’s 80s-set comedy “The Goldbergs.”

As Sheen fans will recall, before he shot to infamy as an actor and tabloid fixture, he had a brief but mesmerizing part in the John Hughes film, billed as “Boy in Police Station.”

In the episode, which is slated to air early next year, Barry (Troy Gentile), inspired by the film, fakes sick and attempts to create an epic day of his own which soon turns out to be a disaster. To salvage what’s left of it, Pops (George Segal) and Adam (Sean Giambrone) join Barry on his day off but they make it worse.

When Erica (Hayley Orrantia) rats out her brothers to their mom, Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) steals a van at her new place of work to catch Barry in the act.

In addition to the upcoming guest spot on “The Goldbergs,” “Two and a Half Men” star Ashton Kutcher — who replaced Sheen on the CBS sitcom after Sheen was booted from the show following a bout of erratic behavior — recently hinted that Sheen might return for the show’s series finale, which airs Feb. 19.
