Is the word "Folk" or "Folks" a 🤬 term?

Nvr heard this word in New York City, it was only used in the south, it originated during slavery. In the south they only use the folk when referring to white people ( not including ghetto slang)

So if you use the term folk in 2016 , you have 🤬 traits
