Just wanna let y'all know I made my label as a homage to the South. Everything from the culture, music and legendary history of it in Hip-Hop. There will be imposters but none that have the same effort or depth mine does. This is the first time ever a purely southern label was made, this is not just for me - it's a win for the South.
Props on the "Love from the Southside" cover...................that one made me do a double take. Super dope one. -
Imma judge in a couple hours, this a good round
-
I'm gonna disregard the subliminal shot(yea 🤬 I peeped it) and enjoy this round. Good luck to everybody. 🤬 bless

Sales: Universal Soul Nation off of the sole fact that there are more members on the roster. Weeknd and OutKast would be neck and neck but outside of Weeknd, Nelly, Kellz, and Usher aren't heavy hitters anymore. Sales combined from their last albums they are just under 100,000 units. Wale ties with Travis Scott and KRIT. With the rest of the label Sion outsells Dope Muzik.
Critical acclaim: Universal Soul Nation, KRIT, Curren$y, OutKast Madlib and Travis Scott get nothing but critical acclaim for their solid projects. The Wiz Khalifa joint album with Curren$y sounds dope and would favour more positivity for this label. After The Weeknd, T-Pain and Bone Thugs everyone else would be treated with mixed reviews.
Longevity: Universal Soul Nation, they are younger, are on the come up and developing a big fan base. Kardinal Offishal benefits from radio play but comes out once every 4 or so years. Nelly, Kellz and Usher will stop making their music after looking at their sales numbers.
Cohesion: Sion takes this with his southern theme throughout his roster. Some obvious collaborations like Usher and R.Kelly weren't hooked up on Dope Muzik's label. Even outside artists weren't used with some of the artists that would work. The Weeknd for example is lacking a lot of features that often decorates his album.
Album covers: Sion understands his artists and executes most of the covers with precision. Juicy J, Run The Jewels, and that Curren$y cover is amazing.
The Angie Stone, Usher and Wale covers are dope as well.
Winner: Sion
I feel this could have been a lot closer if Dilla had a bigger roster. Sales, cohesion and longevity easily could have been swayed in his favour if he had more people.
I have to wish Sion luck because some of these categories he will not be winning against opponents with filled rosters. But he has the best covers in the game so far.
-
Future Sales: Universal Soul Nation- much deeper roster with artists with established fan bases and younger artists that are still building up their careers.
Longevity : Universal Soul Nation- again with the deeper roster and with dope artists like Krit this label has more chances of earning longevity due to the fact that they haven't reached their peak yet and their careers are still young, while vets like Outkast will still be around. It's a solid mix imo.
Album Covers: Universal Soul Nation- these looked like they be actual covers.
Track listing: Tie- can't really judge this.
Cohesion: Universal Soul Nation- I like the southern theme but Sion didn't just throw random southerners together he got artists that were soulful and eclectic and this never wavered.
Overall Winner- Universal Soul Nation -

I'll have it posted in the next few hrs.

On the sales side usn easily, if I outkast or Andre 3000 solo dropped it would be a 100 page thread on here easily, they would get more sales than drake, Taylor swift whoever, it's not even close.
Cohesiveness would be like the Spurs with usn, a lot of young talent leading the way. Andre & big boo would be like Gregg popovich & Tim Duncan for the past few years. Also with killer Mike who is dungeon family that adds on even more. It's too much, the thing I could say about dope music is they could have one of the greatest r&b albums of all time & with nelly, bass & Jermaine dupri they goin have be strip clubs on fire, it make me wanna go just knowing that tpain, nelly, & Trina might be on a song w/ Jermaine dupri on the beat.
With longevity dope muzik on they last leg besides be weekend. He can't anchor a label by himself. & r. Kelly will always be relevant other than that with Travis Scott Andre 3000, even rtj on the underground side. Dope muzik wouldn't be around that long.
That bass & dope album cover the greatest of all time. That bone seems common, that Angie stone could be a real album & that wale ain't too creative but it's cool. I have a big problem with juicy j album cover being called mafia & the real mafia ain't on there. The Andre 3k album cover hard & the rtj seems hard. Other than that nelly pic I seen a million times & that ice cube cover with that font I would give this too dope muzik I think they got that category.

Sales: USN got this. The Weeknd and Outkast cancel eachother out, but the Andre3000 solo album would go plat in a week/2 weeks. USN doesn't have alot of heavy hitters, but all the artists on there sell significantly more than DM, for ex. Juicy J's last album sold 64k in it's first week, Usher sold 38k, etc.
Winner : USN
Critical acclaim: I see the Weeknd getting critical acclaim and Usher getting pretty good reviews. But USN has Outkast, D'angelo, Raury , Goodie Mob and an Andre 3000 solo. I see all 5 of them racking up awards all year.
Winner: USN
Longevity: DM only has 2 relatively young artists with The Weeknd and Wale, everybody else is old. USN has a great balance of vets and new younger artists with Raury, Travis Scott, Gibbs, Currensy, Krit, etc.
Winner: USN
Cohesion: Again, I gotta give this to USN, the southern themed label was outside the box and executed perfectly, with vets and youngins, lyrical and pop artists, etc. DM has a pretty solid label, but like the label in the last match up, there wasn't enough balance, there's way too many artists past their prime on the label with not enough artists for the future.
Winner: USN
Album covers: I 🤬 with the Usher and Angie Stone covers heavy, but it's well known, Sion's a 🤬 when it comes to these album covers, that Outkast cover is ridiculously ill. The only cover from USN I wasn't really feeling is the Andre 3k solo cover, but the others are perfection.
Winner: USN
Match Up Winner: USN
