yo...the redirect is within the next week or so. the current IC will become read-only, and all new posts will be on the new allhiphop.com
I already know... "it's the end of the world/end of the IC/end of AHH/I'm out/I'm headed to another site" etc. we obviously prefer y'all stay, but y'all may decide to leave. that's your prerogative.
both the IC and AHH will go on. for every upgrade we've had, ERYBODY 🤬 about it at first, then grew to like it. that's happened without fail, except for just one time...and in that one time, erybody's 🤬 got hacked, so...ppl liked the site, but still hated it. the game's the game.
I'm not happy about the prospect of possibly losing some folks. hoping for those who do leave, they decide to come back. every upgrade the IC's ever had was always hated, and we're not expecting differently this time.
the feedback that was given earlier has been applied. all of it won't be visible until after the redirect. even so, there's still gonna be a crowd of ppl who won't be satisfied. again, both the IC and AHH will go on.
accounts have already gone over. post counts will go over. reactions won't : ( at least, at first. some of the forums won't make it over (think Growing Pains), but it will be the IC.
I know there's other concerns...@grouchygreg is tuned in to this thread, anyone can @ him, or hit him via pm. I'm also gonna post a mini-FAQ in this thread.

What happened to my post count?
Your post count, join date, points and other info have all been preserved and imported into our new platform. It will take a few weeks before this is displayed in the user profile, hopefully sometime in January, so we appreciate your patience during the transition.
What’s the difference between a “story” and a “conversation”?
Try it! Stories give you more opportunity for expression, formatting etc but take a little extra time to create. Conversations are quick and easy, just start typing. Both stories and conversations support images, embeds, links etc
edit: to simplify things at first, stick with Quick Post for your first few threads.
Why is there no indenting?
The new format displays posts in a simple stream. Maven will be adding the ability to reply to posts in the middle of a conversation thread and eventually quote them as well. We don’t yet have a timeframe for this.
Will I know if someone replies to my post?
Yes, if you initiate a thread (“original poster”) you’ll get email notifications on replies.
Is there a way to "subscribe" and get notified about all new posts?
Sure - just click on any room, then the Options icon, then "Turn on notifications". You can do the same with any particular story, using the ellipse ("...") icon. And if you post a story or start a thread, you'll automatically be notified about any replies.
That’s potentially a lot of email, so you may prefer to go the AHH home page and “Turn on story notifications”. That way you’ll get notified only on actual stories, not user conversations.
Can I change my username?
No, your username is permanent. You may re-register with a different email if desired. [publishers have the option to present a different displayname]
Can I include images and other embeds?
Yes, just paste the link, no embed code is required. We currently support Facebook (which includes Facebook video links), Twitter (including video), Youtube, Instagram, Soundcloud, Vimeo, Audiomack, MP3, JPG, GIF, PNG and more...
