Cable is the most powerful mutant. That is until he gave himself a lobotomy in order to shut off certain parts of his own brain.

Cable without that virus would've been that dude hell he was that with it lol.

Stryfe even though he's just a version of Cable he's still powerful.

Proteus he has reality type powers

Legion has unlimited powers that he can call on

Exactly. I had to read up on him and I found out he's a cold dude. He is probably one of the more slept on mutants in the marvel universe. But the Cable Deadpool series give a good look at how powerful he really is. Plus it's funny as hell...

Cable without the virus that Apoc gave him as a child would be Nathan Grey or Xman from Age of Apocalypse. Nathan Grey and Franklin Richards are the two most powerful mutants. Hope Summers may be in this category once her abilities and potential are explained a bit more, but Franklin is the most powerful since he's holding his power back as a child. Franklin is walking around with Celestial level abilities..He's restored Galactus to his form..Reed thought this act took Franklin's abilities away but he was just hiding them from his dad. Just recently he was able to completely heal Worthy Thing, bringing him back from death and breaking the Serpent's control over him. He created an entire universe so that the Avengers, FF and others would survive after their fight with Onslaught. This universe was complete with all of the heroes/villians in the MU..in the future Franklin and Rachel Summers or her offspring will hook up and have a child who will be even more powerful

Franklin Richards (high level reality warper, as in he can do whatever he wants to do)
Nathan Grey ( high level psionic, the ultimate psionic..Sinister always wanted Jean and Scott's DNA to create the perfect mutant, creating Xman)
Legion (high level psionic, each personality has a different powerset)

A few years back, Cable was able to get rid of that technovirus, unleashing his full potential..some folks called this version of Cable, Jesus Cable..dude was beastly..it took the Silver Surfer to come to earth and put him in his place..but the feats Cable demonstrated during that arc were nice..Cable and Nate actually fought when Nate first came into the 616, Cable couldn't believe the level of power his alternate version was working with..Nate was a teenager then, not really using his power out of fear of it consuming him

If your going by power sets Apoc can rival Thanos and Galactus as galactic threat, but has been written as planetary threat. Not saying Apoc as is powerful as those two btw.

which would be Johnathon Reed Richards, aka Hyperstorm.

but I still think Thanos takes it unless we count the post-retcon Beyonder

Thanos is my favorite Marvel character, but even if you include him under the mutant umbrella he's nowhere near the most powerful mutant. First, a great deal of his powers aren't even natural, they are due to biological or technological enhancements. Second, he simply isn't as powerful as someone like Franklin or Mad Jim. Where Thanos excels is his intelligence and craftiness. He's a universal threat, but not as much due to his powerset as his resourcefulness and ability to outthink everyone.

Thanos is pretty powerful now, he's almost on par with Skyfathers like Odin and Zeus. He's definitely above the top tiers like Thor, Superman etc...Remember he already enhanced himself, but upon his first death, lady Death augmented his powers by a great deal when she brought him back, that's why he's such a beast now..After that he's done other things to enhance his abilities.

If the Thanos Imperative is any indication, Thanos may be more powerful than ever considering his performance against Cancerverse Mar-Vell.

That said, he still isn't on the level of Hyperstorm, Franklin, Proteus, or Jim Jaspers.

    Molecule Man.

The Living Tribunal has said that Owen's powers have no limit whatsoever, and he's the only one that could handle The Beyonder outside of the Tribunal and Eternity in a fight (Owen's power has been stated to exceed The Beyonder's). The fight between the Beyonder and Molecule man extended beyond three dimensional space/time and even then it was revealed that he still wasn't using his full potential during the fight. His limitation is himself. He can alter reality as he sees fit, but generally keeps his power in check until he needs it.

I always thought that his powers was an result of an accident and he wasn't mutant?

Yeah, Molecule Man doesn't technically qualify. And regardless, he would still be below Franklin Richards who is roughly equal to a Celestial who are greater than Cube Beings like Post-Retcon Beyonder and the Molecule Man.
