"F*ck race...I want everyone in here to say it, 'we blessed my n***a'"--Schoolboy Q

I went to the Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul concert on Sunday here in Seattle. Towards the end of the concert Schoolboy performs the song "Blessed". When he is finished he points out that there are a lot of white people in the crowd (probably around 60-70% were white, which believe it or not is pretty low for a concert here) and that he noticed that during the chorus the white people would pause during part where he would say n***a.

He then proceeded to tell the crowd to repeat the word in with the chorus, to which some of the drunk white people near the stage proceeded to scream it with such joy that you would not believe. Where I was standing, no white people said it, hell no one repeated it.

What are the IC's thoughts on this? Are we moving into a new era in which race does no longer matter? Though Schoolboy is not too popular, would it change things if it were a more prominent artist that said such a thing?

i would smile and relish the fact that white fans pause everytime the word nigga is said...I wonder if they say it when they're singing the song alone

this is why the west is as lame as it is outside a few good artists

i am extremly happy that hip hop can bring people of all races together but you shouldn't be condoning white people saying a racial slur like that. don't know whats in the water but the west has hella uncle toms out there continuing to catch l's.

Wu-Tang, Nas and Jay-z wouldnt have successful careers if it werent for white people. If youve been to one of their concerts youd know why.

Co-sign, every rapper who has ever had a successful career wouldnt have had one if it werent for white people. Keep calling it 'our music', but its so popular because of white people. smfh @ hypocrites. Everybody in here knows that when a white person sings along the word nigga at a concert, hes in no way shape or form being racist. If you cant see that, youre a moron and more of a racist than the white boy singing along to his favorite rapper.

Yes they say it when they're alone/riding in car listening to music....one of my homegirls is a white girl i've known her since middle school...loves rap music and rnb music when shes repeating a song she says the n-word...and I honestly don't give a fuck....you really can't expect white people to skip over nigga when they have learned the words to the whole song...now when they're around a group of black people it's another story...

You give Whites to much credit. More importantly it's apparent you weren't there when these artists were playing the Tunnel, or hole in the wall venues that were packed with black audiences.

No I wasnt so I cant speak on that. Once I started going to concerts in 2000 and beyond its been the way I said cause Ive been to multiple concerts from each of these artist I named.

I don't think anybody cares or has a problem with white folks enjoying the music just the part of him encouraging them to use racial slurs.

I know for a fact that people care the white folks enjoy rap. Anytime a subject pops up about race u can smell the anger from some of these dudes.
