Trust me 🤬 yes the 🤬 you would.....and to the t/s 🤬 NO...its too many reasons for me to type out but hell no 🤬 no...i've worked at 4 universities (2 HBCU) and trust me majority of black students at these HBCUs couldn't last a year at a "good" school...they just haven't been trained and guided properly (not necessarily that they are not smart enough)

I've got 2 in my city and I completely understand that.
But do you think that some of that could have been prevented if they had been 'guided properly' years before college?

Absolutely. I understand all the "history" that has led to blacks being behind the 8 ball....it's tough to succeed in college when none of your parents, grandparents, siblings and most friends haven't been through it. 🤬 literally walk in my office and are like help I need money. They simply have no 🤬 clue on where to start, what the 🤬 to do, deadlines, etc. We have to hold their hands through the entire 🤬 process. if I showed you 🤬 emails and the 🤬 questions that college educated mfer send me you would be so ashamed.

I could type titan graphs about this 🤬 all day (this is what i do, try to help and educate mfers on this whole process). Most of these 80/90 babies in school now are from the "🤬 baby" era so they are the first ones in their family to go to college (and it shows something terrible). The parents...MANNNN i dont even want to get on them because most times they are no more educated on the process than the student. Some parents just drop their kid off like good luck (no financial aid yet, housing, etc)...their bad decision making ass just want them out the house (and I've literally had parents say this to me like its 🤬 ok...disgusting).

    @Chicity

I dnt follow..are you trying to say that one man's belief shouldn't be FORCED upon someone else? Because I can totally agree with that.
But I think that it would be a disservice to NOT tell/teach you something and let the person form their own opinion.
I'm not saying that, I ranted while still being rant infused over something else.

This thread has already 🤬 me off something furious

Send ya children to them other schools, I won't if I can help it

The other people in this capitalistic world are not working to do that. The distinctions of race continue to exist because it benefits people socially, financially and poltically. WE can either arm black children with the UNDERSTANDING that they as a group are disadvantaged and need to improve themselves and their race.

    Yes and no.
They're taking advantage at opportunities and educating one another in a community. Which is the premise of the school.

so reality is being marginalized in every way? reality is being nonexistent in history? reality is to value everything in the dominant culture and hate yourself? thats what goes on in "integrated" schools.
don't let political correctness be the enemy of progress.

I think that if you start with the school, you can create a generation that values unity. When they're surrounded by their people they can eventually be the black business owners who have black workers and eventually be a force of reckoning. When they can learn howthe importance of government and financial institutions all that 'diversity' 🤬 goes out the window.

Every year during BHM, I pose the same question: if things could truly be separate AND equal,

Not really separate if still subject to the authority of non-black law enforcers tasked with enforcing laws written by non-black lawmakers, for one. The split would have to go well beyond schools and neighborhoods for it to be closer to separate and equal, imo. And that's not realistic.

Now, I would prefer to raise them in an environment where seeing successful Black physicists and engineers, for example, is a common and normal occurrence. It could help with the way they view themselves, besmirchin' the limiting self-regulation that rears its ugly dome so often.

I ain't read no other responses yet..,But yes...As long as the curriculum was beneficial to my kid's progress...And if that kinda school was in a specifically AA community it'd be a plus...The "old 🤬 school" down the street from where I grew up was like that...My mom, aunts, and some cousins went there...Good teachers, community feel, and they stressed the importance of graduate studies...They just ain't have the finances or athletics that the white school cross town had, and eventually integration murked it out...But back in the day my neighborhood was productively Black owned...My granddaddy een had a grocery store and my great uncle had stake in a textile factory just outside the hood...So yeah, a well run Black school in a well maintained Black neighborhood is great...

that's not reality because in the world, people have all kinds of skin colours

so you'd rather continue perpetuating a totally fabricated caste system with no root in truth instead of us all moving beyond that and treating each other for what we truly are, all 🤬 sapiens? (sapiens, had to add the extra to be accurate)

its not reality that black kids are marginalized in school? its not reality that they are taught incomplete history?
its not reality that they are marginalized in greater society?
this integrated school 🤬 provides false hope. the integrated world WE seek is not gonna be realized by US taking shorts...

and you can't teach them to love and build up their communities and vie for peace and harmony for all at the same time because why exactly?

so because white created an evil system of perceived racism, i should be evil just like them? gotcha

You need to open your eyes. Love and harmony should be promoted amongst us in our communities the key word here being "our" everyone else is the competition, obstacles that need to be jumped over, i have no special hate for anyone else nor special love for anyone else and all black people should feel the same.

In human interaction peace is temporary other people have declared world wide war on our entire race and you want to live in "peace" but your understanding of peace and how to get there is child like. In capitalism there is no peace everything is struggle, fighting to do better than the next man. How you attain "peace" in this society is by economically having power over others in other words peace is attained by war so this system will always breed racism and classism.

Well now..,To the argument brewing in here...I'd say just because you raise your kid in a Black school in a predominately Black neighborhood...Doesn't mean they have to grow a hate or disdain for other races...I have a couple cousins like that...They grew up in Decatur, GA round nothin but Blacks...And really never interacted with other races except when they had to, so they had hella generalizations about whites/messicans/asians for the longest...It's all about exposure...If I know my kid is seeing one thing, I should make an effort to show them more, and to not hate or generalize, because in adulthood they'll prolly have to encounter different people...However, that doesn't mean that my kid would be losing by growing up in a like minded productive community..,

It's cool to have white co-workers it's cool to have white friends and to be nice to all people no matter there ancestory. But it's not cool to have these same people teaching your children or marrying into your family or owning and controlling all the economic wealth of your community.

We cannot win a game by playing as if it is fair when everyone else is playing to win by any means.
of course race is a social construct. guess what? that social construct is as real as biology.
the notion that it is unrealistic to go to a "black" school is shortsighted.
these integrated schools push a false reality where black is a disadvantage.
a school geared toward uplifting blacks specifically can equip these kids with the confidence to excel in multicultural environments.
these white kids go to ALL WHITE schools... we need comparable schools where the blacks kids are not marginalized and mistreated. integration for the sake of inclusion aint working.

That post you quoted was wack as 🤬 . White people go to all white schools and they don't fail because "the real world isn't made of just white people." The same for asians and any other type of persons you want to discuss.

Black kids going to an all black school will OBVIOUSLY better equip them to succeed in the "real word." They will be better equipped with confidence, and self-worth. They won't be so heavily discriminated against and placed in slow classes because they "don't want to learn" or are labeled as "too hyper."

Not to mention, the curriculum can focus on things that are particular to black life in amerikkka and teach the children how to adjust and act in certain situations.... basically things that your standard school would NEVER address or focus on.
