Ok , I 've always wanted to make this thread my dad put me on to Jazz a while back and I have a lot of favorite jazz tunes, but the jazz genre is so rich and vast that I've been having a lil hard time finding more tunes and newer jazz artist. So I'm creating this thread for those that want to share their favorite jazz tunes, any type of jazz is fine from Miles Davis and John Coltrane to Christian Scott and Robert Glasper feel free to share especially if you know any new or slept on jazz artists with good music. Alright I kick off the thread with just a few tunes since I have so many favorite jazz tunes. I'll be sharing music in here periodically from new stuff to old school tunes. Enjoy

Cool drop'em, I listen to a bunch of Jazz but I'm young so I'm just trying to delve into all of the music available, I need to do the same with soul music aswell since music nowadays is watered down and wack. I'll drop some more tunes when I see others drop some, the point of this thread is to share good music since jazz is so slept on and hard to come by. btw @iceberg white folks like that smooth jazz ish they don't know about Art Blakey, Jimmy Smith, Rashaan Roland Kirk, Donald Byrd, Idris Muhammad etc but my thing is who gives a 🤬 what white folks like, I like jazz because it's dope if you ain't into jazz then cool, but what white folks like is irrelevant when dealing with discussing our own classical art forms. Trust that white folks ain't thinking about 🤬 when they listening to Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven.

I remember going home from work and they would play jazz/r&b on the ride home on them Keith Sweat confessions joints lol. This one was one track that I finally found years ago and still jam it on my Ipod till this day called "AfterHours" by Ronny Jordan and been a fan ever since. Sadly, he just passed away this year. #Salute#

Ronald Laurence Albert Simpson, known as Ronny Jordan was a British guitarist at the forefront of the acid jazz movement at the end of the twentieth century. Jordan described his music as "urban jazz," a blend of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B. One of the best album he dropped was "A Brighter Day" IMO.......

Pete Rock just recently did a tribute to Roy Ayers. Glad to see he still kicking.
Roy Ayers is an American funk, soul, and jazz composer and vibraphone player. Ayers began his career as a post-bop jazz artist, releasing several albums with Atlantic Records, before his tenure at Polydor Records beginning in the 1970s, during which he helped pioneer jazz-funk.

My favorite genre... I know for a FACT that when I get older in age, this is what I'll be listening to more then anything. Jazz was the first thing I ever listened to. My parents didn't like rap and really didn't want me listening to it at such an early age. Honestly, I didn't really start listening to (and enjoying) Hip Hop until I was maybe 11 or 12. Without Jazz, their wouldn't be Hip Hop, period.
