New Line and Warner Bros. have announced a release date for their adaptation of Stephen King’s “It.” The movie, which was originally supposed to be directed by Cary Fukunaga, hits theaters Sept. 18, 2017.
WB has also set its “C.H.I.P.S.” reboot to bow on Aug. 11, 2017 and an untitled comedy for Dec. 22, 2017.
“It” has been on a roller coaster after losing Fukunaga last year over creative differences. The studio quickly replaced him with Andres Muschietti as director and sources now tell Variety production is set to get under way this summer.
The original King novel followed seven children known as The Losers Club who come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise. The idea is to have two films, one focused on the children and the other focusing on them as adults when they come back to their hometown to face the monster again.
Sources have also indicated that Will Poulter, who was originally tapped to portray Pennywise in Fukunaga’s version, has dropped out of the film due to a scheduling conflict and that execs are currently meeting with actors to portray the classic King villain.
Roy Lee and Dan Lin are producing along with David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith.

I 🤬 hate clowns -

Yeah know, this may actually come out better than the original. Being completely objective the original wasn't THAT great. It was the underlying fear of clowns attacking children and their worst fears that made it more than it was. The movie held up incredibly well in pop culture tho.
All depends on the direction, cast and writers. Given the age we live in, I assume they're going to talk about the discrimination towards homosexuals, bullying and social diseases more in-depth in this one. The original movie completely avoided those themes from the book.
the movie dealt with the bullying aspect. -
I'm checking for this.
I remember in college my roommate didn't like this movie. I was playing it one night on dvd. It was so long I had to flip it over for the rest of the movie. Roommate walks in and hears it on my tv and was like man cut that 🤬 off. lmao. dude was really scared of clowns. he ain't come in until I turned it off. -

The Original Still Holds Relatively Well For A Mini-Series...For Me Personally Its A Classic...It Was Solidly Directed With A Nice Well Rounded Cast Both Kids/Adults And Tim Curry IS Pennywise...What An Amazing Performance...
I'm Disappointed Fukunaga Dropped Out...His Work On Season 1 Of True Crime Is Some Of The Best 🤬 I've Seen In Maybe Ever...I'm Still Interested In Seeing This...Stephen King's Universe Always Intrigue Me -

Fam Thats How The Whupped It In The Book...Its A Creature From Another Universe Who's True Appearance Is Beyond Human Comprehension...Without Proper Backstory Its Hard To Know That But That's What It Is.. -

Read it in highschool. Much more graphic and much more information and stuff that wasn't included in the movie. -

I read it, and also The Stand. Both are super thick but classic king. Worth the time spent.
