They cast the main character already and I'm almost shocked that they didn't whitewash him...

Respect to Neil Gaiman for not letting the usual shenanigans take place...

Yeah I'ma need to read some back story on this. Idk what that trailer was about
-
I'm 🤬 lost but GOAT.
-
need to finish that book. It wasnt bad just convoluted.
-
So will that mean that the kemetic gods will be black?
-
So I briefly read up on this. It's a war between Egyptian and Norse gods. I'm guessing all the Egyptian gods are black.

We can only hope -

Definitely.
Gaiman hasn't been anything but dense with his writing ever since he wrapped Sandman. He forgot how to be equally epic while still being able to trim the uneccessary fat. -
This 🤬 about to be lit!!!!!!!!!!

Ummm, that's completely wrong. It's about a brewing war between the Old Gods (members of the mythological pantheons like the Norse, Greek, Egyptian, etc...) and the New Gods (the personifications of things like the internet, mass media, mass transit, etc...). It's an ok story. The pacing is pretty off sometimes and I don't know how it will work on TV to be honest.
Anansi's Boys is another book from the same author and it's much better, definitely worth a read IMO.
Sidenote: There are a few Egyptian gods in the book. Based on the descriptions they are either tan or black not white though. -
Just started reading the book with no knowledge there was even a show coming out.
not sure if i should carry on with it or just wait for the show to start. -
early buzz is, this show is GOAT
-
🤬 looks confusing

Just saw the commercial. Might have to check it out

The book is a chore. I'm currently reading it and the plot doesn't really make an appearance until like 200 pages in.
It has some fun scenes, and its a good premise but Gaiman literally spent like two-three pages explaining the environment the character traveled on. It was ridiculous and boring asf.
He gets a little too descriptive and too poetic at times. -

Yeah, and honestly, there is a big chunk of the book that doesn't really mean anything to you until after the 🤬 of the story. Like you seriously think the story is about over and feel like most of the book was a waste of time, and then he kinda wraps up nicely, but you're still like meh... -
Dude wrote an entire paragraph about snowflakes.
I'm gon chill on critiquing Gaiman though, his success is what I aspire to which is why I'm reading the book but its dreadfully slow. -
Debuts tonight
-
Good first episode.. looking forward to the rest of the season
-
It was a cool first ep. They even taking some of the dialogue straight from the book. I'm hot old girl didn't spit in the casket tho. That was one of my favorite scenes in the book
-
Definitely intrigued
-
weird ass show

Yea bruh all this describing of Lakeside when Shadow 1st arrives is killing me. I find myself skipping pages and pages of pointless conversation in search of a 🤬 plot. I'm trying to finish the book before watching the show -
watching now, I like it.
