The black owned record label with the biggest selling artist (other than Lucious) being white. I thought that alone was an ironic shot at the current music industry.

The gay agenda is real in hip hop. Another uncomfortable but real subject that needs to be shown...I guess.

Behind every strong black man is a strong black woman. (Cookie the Queen and one sexy ass bish)

Pitting black brothers against each other instead of coming together to build, ultimately leading to disfunction.

Last episode where the brothers performed in front of a room full of whites in order to float the company on the stock market is as real as hip hop gets. *see Bobby Schmurda dancing on tables for white folk to push music to black youth.

I don't think the show is as bad as made out. All this "coon" shit is a reflection of the current state of hip hop.

Please stop with comparisons to Power. Power is about a drug dealer with inner struggles of wanting to go legit who attempts to wash money through a club, not music industry related at all.

This is based on the hip hop industry, family, lies, betrayal and power struggles. Two totally different concepts.

But if you are Black none of this is new. It's the same wash and repeat . I don't get watching a show that doesn't shed any light on solutions, or offer a new perspective.

It may not at this time shed any light on solutions, but it exposes it to the masses *see ratings, thus making the white puppet masters behind hip hop feel very uncomfortable.
Besides its a drama, not a fucking documentry. Maybe you're looking in the wrong places for solutions.

The irony of getting more black tv shows and the only people to slate it are pro blacks is amusing.

Why does everything always gotta be some educational shit instead of just enjoying the entertainment for what it is? These same people favorite film is more than likely got a white lead or was written by a white man etc...

I disagree wholeheartedly with the bold.

They not uncomfortable with what is being shown.

A lot of black people love that show and want to live their life just like they are living. You know how many niggas think right now they going to be next Lucious Lyons and get there just like he did.

White people looking at that show like told yall this is how they are and without us controlling it could you imagine how it would be.

This sound like some coon shit....who give a fuck what white people think about how black business is run?

    Fuck em'!

And if kids wanna be like Jay Z, well then why the fuck not? Jay would be the real Lucious Lyons or Dre, Russell Simmons, Diddy....whats wrong with that?

    Shut up man.

    Is that your best response?

How about you just don't watch the show and don't come in a thread about the show...simples.

    So you are anti-black?

It doesn't have to be educational. I am ok if people find Empire entertaining. That's not my brand of entertainment. The show just isn't deep or offer anything new to me.

    Don't be silly fam.

I say the same to you as anyone else who has a problem with the show....don't watch it. No need to comment in a thread about it either. Senseless.

But if like some others you label the show "coon shit" or label the people that enjoy it "coons". Pro black posters such as myself are entitled to state reasons why I don't think it is...

I don't think it is perfect. But I don't think anything in life is perfect.

No matter if it is not deep enough for you. It is a black show thats doing numbers. Thats a win for blacks in the TV industry. It also means kids/teenagers don't have to always watch white programs.

More of our black people are getting that white money while providing entertainment for black people. I can't hate on that.
